Joe Alwyn, Taylor Swift's ex, is prepared for others to move on from their relationship.
The couple, known for their contrasting personalities and hit songs, ended their six-year relationship in 2023.
Taylor Swift's former partner, Joe Alwyn, has moved on from their relationship and believes others should do the same.
The actor discussed his upcoming film, "The Brutalist," with The Guardian and stated that he was ready to move on from his relationship and the attention it brought.
"He stated that the topic being discussed was something that had already passed in his life and was therefore not relevant to him. He felt that it was for others to handle."
Alwyn and Swift were in a relationship for six years, maintaining secrecy throughout their time together.
Did the actor express concern that his relationship might overshadow his successful film career, which includes "The Favourite"?
"He stated that he focused on controlling what he could control and prioritized the things that mattered to him, such as friends, family, work. He ignored the noise outside of that, like many public figures do."
He stated, "If you do not control your thoughts and emotions, and allow external factors to influence you, you will be living from the outside in. This will ultimately lead to negative consequences."
In 2020, during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Alwyn and Swift worked together on the albums "Folklore" and "Evermore."
William Bowery, under his real name, is a co-producer on several "Folklore" songs and is credited on two others, "Exile" and "Betty," earning a Grammy for album of the year alongside Taylor Swift in 2021.
"The lockdown brought a multitude of unexpected events, which made it quite remarkable, he remarked. It was not something he would have anticipated."
"We’re talking about something that’s a while ago now in my life. So that’s for other people." — Joe Alwyn
Near the start of the singer's "Eras Tour," their relationship ended in early 2023.
In April 2023, Entertainment Tonight confirmed that Alwyn and Swift had ended their relationship. The source stated that the split was "amicable" and not "dramatic."
The insider stated that Alwyn had not been present at any of Swift's "Eras Tour" shows because the former couple's separation had caused the end of their relationship.
Swift's exes, including Alwyn, were subjected to intense scrutiny by her fans, who analyzed her lyrics, particularly those in "The Tortured Poets Department," for information about their relationship.
This year, the 33-year-old discussed with The Sunday Times Style the intense public interest in them.
"Alwyn stated that the sudden introduction of reality into an unreal space, such as tabloids, social media, and press, results in the dissemination, speculation, and distortion of information beyond recognition. Despite this, there will always be a difference between what is known and what is stated."
"I have made my peace with that," Alwyn added.
He revealed that he and Swift had decided to keep their relationship details private.
""I never intended to commodify it, and I see no reason to change that now. A year has passed, and I am fortunate to be in a great place in my life, both professionally and personally. I feel good," Alwyn said."
In the interview, Alwyn declined to disclose whether he was still communicating with Swift or the current state of his romantic relationships.
Travis Kelce is currently in a relationship with Swift, which started in the summer of 2023.
