Jessica Simpson's transformation showcases her 100-pound weight loss and sobriety triumph.
A singer who is impossible to resist has announced new music, her first in 14 years.
Jessica Simpson flaunted a fresh appearance while subtly suggesting upcoming music.
She posted a stunning photo on Instagram of herself sitting beside musical equipment while wearing a white romper with a black fishnet midriff, black fishnet tights, and platform boots.
She wore her long blonde hair in a Brigitte Bardot-inspired half updo, with similarly retro bold eyes and nude lips.
She wrote in the caption, "I eagerly anticipate sharing the melody of my heart with you all."
Another commentator referred to her as "Irresistible 2.0," while another wrote, "you look like a beautiful queen."
Others were less compassionate, expressing their doubts about her transformation through comments such as, "I can't recognize this person."
But many defended the singer and businesswoman.
"Why do people need to be so mean? She is talented, beautiful, and determined not to give up on life. Lifting people up is much healthier," a commenter stated.
Recently, Simpson has given a second hint about her musical comeback, along with a new appearance.
In November, she posted a glamorous look with a rock edge, featuring a white dress, black fur coat, and patent platform boots.
In my Nashville music room, I discovered my unique magic, as Simpson stated in the caption.
She added, 'This comeback is personal and an apology to myself for enduring what I didn't deserve.'
This time, the comment from Simpson about her marriage to her husband of 10 years, Eric Johnson, sparked discussion among fans.
Is this fan implying that she's single?
Another fan has posted, 'I predicted this a while ago. We love you. Keep up the strength.'
Since 2014, Simpson and Johnson have been married and share daughters Maxwell, 12, and Birdie, 5, and son Ace, 11.
Last month, Ashlee Simpson, Jessica Simpson's younger sister, denied divorce rumors when asked by TMZ. When asked if fans' speculation about Jessica's divorce from her recent Instagram post was true, Ashlee responded, "No."
Since her 2010 holiday album "Happy Christmas," Simpson has not put out an album.
At that point, she shifted her attention from music to her fashion line, the Jessica Simpson Collection, which debuted in 2005.
In her 2020 memoir, "Open Book," the "Newlyweds" star revealed her struggles as a young woman in the music industry.
At 17, she was informed by producer Tommy Mottola that she needed to shed 15 pounds.
Simpson's weight was 118 pounds and her height was 5-foot-3 at the time. Mottola's alleged request led the singer to resort to diet pills in order to lose weight to 103 pounds.
In the book, she admitted to taking diet pills for the next twenty years.
She shared a bikini photo in 2022, disclosing that she had experienced weight fluctuations of 100 pounds three times in her life, with the most recent occurrence happening after the birth of her third child, Birdie, in 2019.
In 2021, a mother of three revealed to Hoda Kotb on "Today" that she had abandoned her scale in favor of focusing on her overall well-being rather than a specific objective.
Simpson stated, "It was like a Ouija board. I have no clue how much I weigh. I simply want to feel good and be able to zip my pants up. If I can't, I have another size. I possess every size."
"I've exerted great effort to prevent that from defining me."
Despite facing criticism from the public over her weight, she continued to post on Instagram, with some commenters accusing her of using Ozempic to maintain her thin appearance.
She addressed the speculation in an interview with Bustle last year.
"Oh Lord. I mean, it is not – it’s willpower," she said when asked whether Ozempic was involved. "I’m like, do people want me to be drinking again? Because that’s when I was heavier. Or they want me to be having another baby? My body can’t do it."
Simpson has been sober since 2017.
She revealed to E! News that abstaining from alcohol has been the most beneficial decision she's made for herself, as it has given her immense clarity.
Being present in conversations allows me to absorb others' thoughts and listen, which previously hindered my ability to fully experience my life. Now, I am feeling this sense of fulfillment.
""I agree, it's important to maintain a healthy weight, especially during the holidays," Simpson said."
Simpson, who was celebrating her sixth anniversary of sobriety, posted a throwback photo from 2017 on the day she decided to get sober, and captioned it "unrecognizable."
The mother of three, who was four years sober at the time of the original post, wrote that there is a lot of stigma surrounding the term "alcoholism" or being labeled as an "alcoholic." She stated that the real work in her life was to accept failure, pain, brokenness, and self-sabotage. She emphasized that the drinking itself was not the problem, but rather her own self-love and respect for her own power. Today, she is proud to say that she has overcome these issues.
In a recent birthday post for her son, Simpson's fans accused her of drinking again, urging her to stop.
"Simpson stated, "I haven't consumed alcohol since October 2017 and it has been the best decision I've made for myself and my family. Thank you for your concern, but I am not interested in alcohol. Sending love your way.""
