Jeremy Renner recovers from near-death snowplow accident, two years later.
On New Year's Day 2023, Jeremy Renner was admitted to the hospital due to an accident where his Sno-Cat overran him.
On the second anniversary of his near-fatal snowplow accident, Jeremy Renner is paying tribute to the individuals who played a crucial role in his survival.
On January 1st, Renner posted a photo on Instagram of him in a hospital bed, surrounded by medical staff, from two years ago.
"Today marks my second 'ReBirthday' and I am filled with gratitude for the individuals who helped me recover. I express my love, respect, and appreciation to the nurses, doctors, and first responders who played a crucial role in my recovery. Thank you for saving my life," he wrote in an emotional caption.
"My heart goes out to my brave nephew and the angels who helped me during the 45-minute chaos on New Year's morning. I'm sorry for the haunting images I shared with you all, and I'll spare you from the meat grinding ones."
On January 1, 2023, Renner was airlifted to a hospital after being run over by his own Sno-Cat while trying to tow a stuck vehicle in the snow near his home in the Sierra Nevada mountains. He suffered more than 30 broken bones and was treated for blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries.
My gratitude list is extensive, thanks to the outpouring of love and prayers from you all over the world. My family has been by my side, and with a bit of luck, divine intervention, and a whole lot of miracles, I am now strong again.
"More open, more loved, more connected, and blessed to take my next step and breath. Thank you with every fiber and cell in my body. I love you all," he concluded, adding a red heart emoji and #MyNextBreath.
The snowplow accident near Renner's home in Lake Tahoe, California, was captured on bodycam footage, showing the moment he was "completely crushed" by his 14,000-pound PistenBully Sno-Cat.
Officials from the Washoe County Sheriff's Department responded to an accident that occurred at around 9 a.m. The accident was reported by a neighbor who had noticed Renner attempting to help his nephew, Alex Fries, move a truck that was stuck in the snow. Renner exited the snowplow to check on his nephew, but the snowplow continued to move. In an attempt to stop it, Renner jumped back on the snowplow, but he got caught in the tread.
A paramedic exclaimed, "I've never encountered anything like this," after Renner was taken to the hospital.
"Renner described his recovery as a disaster, stating that even basic tasks such as showering and using the bathroom were challenging."
"Medications prevent you from going to the bathroom, resulting in constipation. You collect urine in a jar. This experience was terrible. You realize things aren't going well when you're using a plastic jug to urinate. It took me 17 minutes to get out of bed."
Renner has been sharing updates on his road to recovery since the accident on his social media platforms.
