Jenny McCarthy reveals she took something from the Pope's residence: "The whole story is there."
While visiting the Vatican City, McCarthy attempted to put on the Pope's hat.
During a trip to Italy, Jenny McCarthy admitted to stealing a sacred item from the Pope.
During a Wednesday episode of "Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa," the 51-year-old TV personality, who was raised in a devout Catholic family, made a confession.
"The Masked Singer" judge revealed to host Kelly Ripa that they stole a cross from the Vatican and gave it to their mother, who responded, "This is not okay."
"You did?" Ripa asked.
McCarthy explained that she didn't steal the cross but one of her girlfriends did while they were in Vatican City.
During my time in Italy, I received an invitation to attend an eyeglass party. While there, I was approached and asked if I wanted to meet the Pope. Although the Pope was not in town, we were able to enter his apartment. We entered the Vatican at midnight and walked through his apartment and hallways.
"McCarthy continued, "I tried on his hat. It was crazy. My girlfriend came with me, and when I got home in the hotel room, she said, 'I know your mom loves the Pope so much, so I stole her hat.'""
McCarthy was informed by Ripa that "there was a penance to be paid" but later learned that the "John Tucker Must Die" actress had only received "stolen merchandise."
""In fact, it is your mother who must pray," Ripa stated."
Linda, McCarthy's mother, keeps the cross, which is prominently displayed at her home.
Though she has removed it from the wall, McCarthy feels reassured that it is still in good hands.
Donnie Wahlberg's wife had prayed to God before meeting him, as previously revealed by the former Playboy Playmate.
McCarthy revealed on "The Kelly Clarkson Show" in April that she had recently ended a series of unhealthy relationships, which led her to reevaluate her love life.
"She explained, "I said to myself, 'I'm really going to let the universe know I'm shutting this down,' so I avoided blind dates and dating altogether. I focused on myself because I believed that if I could improve myself, then I could improve the people around me and the ones I brought into my life. I told God, 'Don't bring me a half-baked guy.'""
McCarthy admitted that she wasn't actively seeking a relationship with Wahlberg, 54, when they met. Instead, she had spent the previous year focusing on "overcoming the issues and understanding the root causes" of her past romantic patterns.
"The interview with Donnie on a talk show was a turning point for me. I had been focusing on self-love and self-acceptance, but when I met him, I was immediately drawn to his humor, intelligence, and physical appearance. The interview lasted for over an hour, and by the end, I knew I was in love."
McCarthy and Wahlberg, who got married in 2014, renew their vows annually.
