Jelly Roll reveals that he has contracted staph infections from tattoos: "I regret nothing"
The country star now admits that he regrets most of his tattoos.
Jelly Roll has made some questionable decisions.
Jelly Roll, the up-and-coming country music sensation, has a large collection of tattoos, including some on his face and neck. During an interview with Howard Stern, Jelly Roll admitted that some of his tattoos were done in unsanitary environments, resulting in staph infections.
He revealed to Stern that he attempted to get a tattoo on his face when he was younger, but the artist refused him, and it wasn't until he received a face tattoo while in jail that other artists agreed to work in the area.
Jelly Roll agreed with Stern that tattoos obtained while incarcerated are unhygienic.
"I got staph infections from bad tattoos, yet I learned nothing. You're bull-headed, and I still went back to the same guy who gave me the staph infection!"
""It's next-level insane," he remarked."
The discussion started when Stern mentioned a GQ interview Jelly Roll did recently, where he stated that he regrets 98% of his tattoos, almost all of them. He added that his core philosophies were established at the age of 17 and now, at 40, he wonders what he was thinking.
He said he "hated them all."
Stern inquired about whether he regretted the tattoos on his face, and he replied, "Probably one of the few I'd keep. I adore my cross, I adore my slash. It's these …" He gestured with his arms.
He changed the direction of the conversation to impart some unsolicited advice, stating, "Either we'll spend $300 on a pair of shoes that will fall apart in six months or we'll lose them. But as soon as someone demands $400 an hour to tattoo, we're out. $1,000 an hour? No way."
The singer of "Son of a Sinner" added, "I have a tattoo on my arm that resembles a quarter sack of bad weed, which I received in exchange for a quarter sack of bad weed."
He claimed that the tattoos on his arm appeared "decent" due to their clustering, but upon closer inspection, it was evident that "these suck bad."
"He admitted that it was bad art and there was no other way to put it."
