Jelly Roll, a renowned country music artist, asserts that "God had a grander plan" for him.
The 2024 CMT Music Awards saw Jelly Roll receive three awards on Sunday night.
Jelly Roll, a renowned country star, believes that his achievements are evidence of a greater purpose planned by God.
Jelly Roll revealed that his faith in God has been the source of his motivation in an interview with Planet Chronicle Digital prior to the 2024 CMT Music Awards.
"Could you imagine being a 37-year-old, unsuccessful musician when you told people that was your job?" he said. "Faith was a lot of me believing it was going to work out for me."
Jelly Roll, who gained fame with his 2021 album "Ballad of the Broken," revealed that he had been making music for years before achieving recognition. In 2003, he tried his hand at hip-hop with his debut "The Plain Shmear Tape," but eventually found success in country and rock music.
Jelly Roll stated, "Unlike something I did as a hobby, it was my profession. I always believed that God had a greater purpose for my efforts."

The musician emphasized that his life demonstrates that not everyone needs to strike a deal with the devil in order to succeed in the music industry.
Earlier this month, at the 2024 iHeartRadio awards, Jelly Roll discussed the impact of God on his career.
"When a guy like me is given the chance to be the new pop artist of the year at the iHeartRadio awards, it means that God will always use the least likely messenger with the biggest message," he stated in his acceptance speech.
In his interview with Planet Chronicle Digital, Jelly Roll discussed his role as God's "least likely messenger."
""God always equips the call, not the equipped," he explained. "I am a living manifestation of that," he said."
Despite the recognition and praise he has received in his music career, Jelly Roll, born Jason Bradley DeFord, confessed that he is still "confused" about it.
I believe that when people look at me, they see a part of themselves reflected in me. And when I achieve a small victory, they feel like it's a win for both of us.
Jelly Roll views himself as a "living embodiment" of being blessed by God.
"That's our guy up there, the one who lives between right and wrong, just like all the losers."
Noah was instructed by God to construct an ark during the flood, as mentioned in the Bible.
"God chose Noah, who had no knowledge of boat building and no experience in craftsmanship, to construct an ark."
Jelly Roll won three trophies at the 2024 CMT Music Awards and has been vocal about the fentanyl epidemic, testifying before Congress in January.
"Jelly Roll admitted to being part of the problem as a drug dealer, but now he wants to be part of the solution and is standing before Congress."
Despite facing a tumultuous upbringing and being imprisoned before graduating high school, the musician served time when he was 14 and welcomed his first child, daughter Bailee, while still behind bars.
Since getting his life back on track, Jelly Roll now has full custody of Bailee and raises her with his wife, Bunnie Xo, who is a former sex worker. Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo got married in 2016.
Jelly Roll revealed to Planet Chronicle Digital that their friendship is the key to maintaining their marriage.
Another secret to their successful marriage is having no secrets at all.
"Having uncomfortable conversations is crucial for building and growing relationships. It's a constant effort, but it's worth it in the end."
