Jamie-Lynn Sigler abstaining from food for 8 days: "I've been dealing with a lot of digestive problems."
MS also affects Sigler.
Jamie-Lynn Sigler is trying out something new.
On her podcast "Not Today, Pal," the actress disclosed that she is currently on a "milk cleanse," which involves abstaining from solid food for eight days and consuming only whole milk.
Iler and comedian Mike Cannon were conversing with Sigler when he exclaimed, "You guys should hear what I'm doing right now; it's going to make you think I'm insane."
"She confessed, "It's astonishing because, like me, she loves food and sweets – she's currently on a milk cleanse. For days, she's been consuming only whole milk.""
She grabbed a bottle of milk, took a drink, and continued, "I take these pills. The idea is that parasites love dairy. I've had so many gut issues and have tried so many different things to fix them."
"So you just drink milk for eight days, and then you take these pills and so the idea is that all these parasites that are hiding in your body, they’re all coming out because all they’re getting is dairy." — Jamie-Lynn Sigler
"I've known enough people who have done this and they say it's really good."
Sigler analyzed the cleanse in detail despite Cannon's dismissal of it as "gross."
Drinking milk for eight days followed by taking pills is the idea to eliminate parasites in the body, as they are only getting dairy.
She mentioned that she's taking supplements and pointed out that "it's just cleaning you out" because she hasn't had to get up three times to go poop.
She stated that she wasn't hungry even though she hadn't eaten solid food, and mentioned that the cleanse permitted her to consume one cup of coffee with milk and a teaspoon of honey in the morning.
Cutter Dykstra, her former MLB player husband, informed Sigler that her skin was becoming clearer.
Sigler frequently discusses her struggle with MS while discussing her gut health with Iler and Cannon. Earlier this year, she shared that she nearly died in 2023 after a trip to India to try a different form of healing.
"Sigler shared with Christina Applegate on her "MeSsy" podcast in June that about a year ago, she went to India and lived in an ashram. She felt awakened, connected, and peaceful there. However, two weeks later, she had a bad reaction to surgery and got sepsis, which almost killed her. She never told anyone about this until a year ago, when she was in the hospital again, this time much closer to death."
"2023 was a year of intense grief for me. I had never felt so sad or low. However, my time in India taught me that I couldn't escape my emotions. I had to confront them head-on. I cried to friends, screamed into pillows, and even got a therapist. I did things I had never done before and went through a process that was absolutely necessary. I believe it's important to embrace your emotions and truly confront them."
""You must let yourself experience those emotions," she emphasized."
Sigler, who was 20 when she was diagnosed with MS, kept the diagnosis a secret for 15 years before revealing it in 2016, just before the start of the fourth season of "The Sopranos."
