Jamie Foxx denies rumors that Diddy attempted to murder him.
If found guilty, Sean 'Diddy' Combs could receive a sentence of 15 years to life in prison for sex-related offenses.
On Monday, Jamie Foxx made a comeback on television and addressed rumors about his relationship with Sean "Diddy" Combs.
In his Netflix comedy special, Foxx, 56, disclosed the details of the near-death medical emergency he experienced in April 2023, including the brain bleed that resulted in a stroke. He also admitted that he had trouble remembering events for 20 days after the stroke, following a weekslong coma.
Recently, the Academy Award-winning actor has been mostly silent about his hospital stint and recovery efforts, but Internet chatter has targeted Combs for "trying to kill" Foxx.
Foxx joked on stage during his "What Had Happened Was" special at Atlanta's Alliance Theater in October, saying, 'I know what you're thinking, 'Diddy?'
"No way, I left the parties early. I was out by 9, something didn't feel right. It's slippery in here."
As Foxx continued, he felt a sense of calm wash over him. He saw the tunnel but not the light. He was enveloped in the heat of the tunnel. Foxx couldn't help but wonder if he was taking a wrong turn in this place.
"Your life doesn’t flash before your face. It was kind of oddly peaceful. I saw the tunnel. I didn’t see the light. I was in that tunnel, though." — Jamie Foxx
"I saw the devil at the end of the tunnel, but it was just Puffy [Sean Combs]."
In the set, Foxx joked, "If it was Puffy, he would have had a flaming bottle of Johnson & Johnson."
"Because I looked at the end of the tunnel, and I thought I saw the devil like, ‘Come on.’ Or is that Puffy [Sean Combs]? I’m f---ing around." — Jamie Foxx
On Sept. 17, a federal indictment was unsealed, accusing Diddy of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
According to an unsealed indictment obtained by Planet Chronicle Digital, Diddy allegedly ran a criminal enterprise through his businesses, including Bad Boy Entertainment, Combs Enterprises and Combs Global, among others. He used "firearms, threats of violence, coercion and verbal, emotional, physical, and sexual abuse" to fulfill his sexual desires.
According to the indictment, Diddy and his staff arranged, directed, and recorded elaborate produced sex performances, which often involved multiple sex workers and lasted multiple days. These "Freak Offs" were transported across state lines and internationally, the indictment stated.
Arun Subramanian set the trial of Combs to commence on May 5. The prosecution anticipates that the government's case will take three weeks to present, while Combs' legal team predicts needing only one week to defend the rapper.
If convicted, the "Last Night" singer could receive a minimum of 15 years in prison or a lifetime sentence.
