James Middleton, Kate's brother, provides an update on her cancer battle.
This month, Kate Middleton resumed her royal duties following her announcement that she is cancer-free.
Kate Middleton's younger brother James is sharing news about his royal sister.
After finishing chemotherapy, the Princess of Wales is reportedly doing well, according to James Middleton.
In an interview with "Today," James discussed the current state of James' health and stated, "James is doing well. While I cannot disclose the specifics of her health journey, I can confirm that she is receiving the necessary support and attention to manage her health effectively."
"Like anything, it takes time to process."
In March, after Kate's cancer diagnosis, James posted a childhood photo of them together and wrote in the caption, "We have climbed many mountains together as a family, and we will do so again with you."
He expressed his liking for the metaphor of climbing a mountain, which is something that his family has done all their lives. He emphasized the importance of respecting a mountain.
"She's doing OK. It's not for me to share on her behalf how everything's going, but she's getting all the right support and focus that she needs." — James Middleton
Kate has been quiet about her health issues since her diagnosis, but recently she announced that she is cancer-free.
"As summer draws to a close, I am grateful to have finished my chemotherapy treatment," the 42-year-old wrote in a social media statement. "The past nine months have been challenging for our family. Life can change suddenly and we've had to learn to navigate through uncharted waters."
The cancer journey is a complex, scary, and unpredictable experience for everyone, especially those closest to you. It forces you to confront your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that comes a new perspective on everything. This time has reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. My focus now is on doing what I can to stay cancer free.
The princess stated that although she had completed chemotherapy, her journey to complete healing and full recovery would be a long process, requiring her to take each day as it comes. However, she expressed excitement about returning to work and participating in more public engagements in the upcoming months. Despite the challenges she had faced, she entered this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and a greater appreciation for life.
"We are deeply grateful for the support we have received and have found great strength from those who are helping us during this difficult time. The kindness, empathy, and compassion of everyone has been truly humbling. To those who are also facing their own cancer journey, I stand with you, hand in hand. Through the darkness, there is always a glimmer of hope, so let that light shine bright."
In March, Kate announced in a video that she had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy. This news came after she underwent a planned abdominal surgery in January, which sparked speculation concerning her health.
Despite keeping a low profile throughout the year, the princess made two public appearances: on June 15 for Trooping the Colour and on July 14 at Wimbledon.
Kate acknowledged in a statement that chemotherapy has both good and tough days, but her work brings her a deep sense of joy.
Kate resumed her royal duties on Sept. 17 by meeting with her team at the Centre for Early Childhood.
According to The Times, Middleton is planning to handle a few responsibilities for the remainder of the year.
