James Bond actor Mark Wahlberg formed a bond with his 'stunning' costar over their shared 'humble beginnings': 'Blue-collar James Bond'
'The Union' streaming Aug 16 features them in a new movie.
Years ago, Halle Berry and Mark Wahlberg formed a strong bond, which has led to their current collaboration in a new movie.
Wahlberg stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that he and his friend are very close, share humble beginnings, have worked hard to achieve their success, have a lot in common, and enjoy each other's company.
Wahlberg admitted that Berry is "so funny" and "very approachable," which surprised him.
"He stated that he believes the thing people would value most is her authenticity, as she is true to herself and presents herself in the same manner on social media and in interviews. Despite her impressive accomplishments as an actor, director, and producer, she is approachable and has a sweet, funny, and feisty personality. He was amazed by her ability to balance her talent and approachability."
Wahlberg and Berry both struggled in their early careers before becoming A-list stars.
In Ohio, Berry began her pageant career and later revealed to Vogue in 2021 that she wore her prom dress when she won Miss World because she couldn't afford a new one.

"That dress propelled me to become Miss Ohio, Miss Teen America, and Miss USA in the global pageant," she stated.
After moving to New York to pursue acting, the "X-Men" star found himself in a homeless shelter due to running out of funds.
"Three months later, I was out of cash," Berry said in 2017, according to People. "I called my mother and asked for money, but she refused, which led to a year of not speaking to her because I was so upset."
"She said, 'If you want to be there, then you be there, you work it out,' and I had to work it out," Berry added.

Dorchester, Boston, was the childhood home of Wahlberg, the youngest of nine siblings, who faced challenges with substance abuse and legal issues following violent incidents.
"In 2020, he told The Guardian that his real-life experience was his greatest advantage in his work, but it also came with a significant cost."
Both stars, including Berry, achieved success in acting and received awards and accolades, including Berry's historic best actress Oscar win.
Wahlberg stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that their long-standing relationship allowed them to easily create the chemistry needed for their new film, "The Union."
"He stated that it came naturally, but both men and women would believe that Halle Berry is the best and most believable for a man to wait 25 years to get a second chance with her."
In the movie, Wahlberg portrays Mike, a construction worker who reunites with his former high school sweetheart, Roxanne. However, Roxanne has more in store for Mike than just reminiscing about the past; she draws him into her thrilling world of undercover agents and espionage.
The "blue-collar James Bond" concept was the starting point for the film, as described by Wahlberg.
""Probably, I won't ever get to play James Bond, which is okay. We can create our own version. We came up with an idea, pitched it to Netflix, and they loved it. Here we are," he said to Entertainment Weekly."
"The Union" premieres on Netflix on Aug. 16.
