In an emotional video, Dick Van Dyke reveals that he is not afraid of death and dances barefoot just days before turning 99.
Chris Martin and Mary Poppins, both 98 years old, star in a new music video for Coldplay's 'All My Love'.
Currently, Dick Van Dyke is satisfied with the life he has chosen.
The actor, who is set to turn 99 on Dec. 13, shared his life story in a new music video for Coldplay's "All My Love." Although the song wasn't originally about him, the video transformed it into a tribute to his remarkable career.
The video, shot at the legendary actor's Malibu, California, home, showcases footage of Van Dyke's accolades and awards, heartwarming moments with his family, and poignant moments of reflection.
"Van Dyke stated in the video, "I am aware that I could go at any moment, but I don't understand the reason behind it, and it doesn't bother me. I have a feeling, despite being against any intellectual thoughts, that I will be okay.""
"I feel fortunate to have a job that allows me to pursue my passions," he said. "When you consider my good fortune - I get to play and act silly for a living."
In the video, the Golden Globe-winning actor demonstrates his signature dance moves, paying homage to his younger self by dancing barefoot and recreating iconic moves from "Mary Poppins," "The Dick Van Dyke Show," and other films.
In the video, Van Dyke reveals that his favorite lyrics in "All My Love" from Coldplay's "Moon Music" album are "Until I die, let me hold you if you cry."
"So beautiful," Van Dyke says.
Accompanied by his wife, makeup artist Arlene Silver, and many members of his extended family, including his children and grandchildren, the 98-year-old was present.
The tear-jerking video prompted a positive response from fans on social media.
One fan on YouTube's video was moved to tears with happiness and wished there were a billion more people like him.
"Amidst the chaos and madness of war, another wrote, these few minutes are a reminder of love, family, friendship, and music and dancing. A reminder that, regardless of age, we all start life the same way. I will definitely revisit this video multiple times."
Following his Creative Arts Emmy win in September, Van Dyke shared his thoughts on how he would like to be remembered.
""I hope to make people laugh for 75 years," he said while holding his trophy for outstanding variety special for "Dick Van Dyke 98 Years of Magic," per People magazine."
After receiving his award, the "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" actor mused on his 75-year career in the entertainment industry, expressing astonishment at still being able to perform.
He joked, "If anybody has work, I'm looking."
