In 2024, Jessica Simpson, Kathy Bates, and Jelly Roll displayed their impressive 100-pound weight loss.
Dave Bautista reveals he struggled with weight loss while Tom Arnold lost 80 pounds naturally.
Many celebrities prioritized health and showed off their slimmed-down figures in 2024.
Some of the stars who have undergone significant weight loss transformations include Jelly Roll, Jessica Simpson, and Kathy Bates.
Some celebrities have continued to work towards losing weight in 2021.
Jelly Roll
Jelly Roll has been consistent in his efforts to lose weight after admitting he was addicted to food in the same way he was previously addicted to drugs.
In October, the singer known as "Save Me" announced on Instagram that he had achieved a significant milestone in his weight loss journey.
"The following year, you won't recognize me because I'll be under a weight pile in a new way."
Jelly Roll's nutrition coach, Ian Larios, joined him in the video and shared how he helped Jelly Roll maintain good eating habits and stay active. Larios explained Jelly Roll's weight loss methods.
"Larios stated that we have reached the halfway point of the tour, and Jelly has been excelling. We are either walking around the arena, playing basketball, or boxing. Jelly has recently surpassed his 100-pound weight loss goal."
Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, was focused on a high-protein diet and shared some meals he prepared for the artist. One of Jelly Roll's favorite pre-show snacks is a banana with Manuka honey, Stevia, and dark chocolate shavings.
Jessica Simpson
Jessica Simpson has wowed fans with her dramatic transformation.
In 2024, Simpson drew attention to her weight loss, which she had first discussed in 2019, and her fans expressed excitement about her new album.
Simpson flaunted a new style in an Instagram post, featuring a stunning photo of herself posing with music equipment while donning a white romper with black fishnets and platform boots.
She wrote in the caption, "I eagerly anticipate sharing the melody of my heart with you all."
Since her 2010 holiday album "Happy Christmas," Simpson has not put out an album.
Another commentator referred to her as "Irresistible 2.0," while another wrote, "you look like a beautiful queen."
Others were less compassionate, expressing their doubts about her transformation through comments such as, "I can't recognize this person."
"I don't understand why people feel the need to be so mean. She is talented and beautiful and not giving up on life. Lift people up, it's so much healthier," a user wrote.
The actress who stars in "Newlyweds" has shared her weight-loss journey on social media.
She shared a bikini photo in 2022, disclosing that she had experienced weight fluctuations of 100 pounds three times in her life, with the most recent occurrence happening after the birth of her third child, Birdie, in 2019.
Eric Johnson and Simpson are parents to three children: Maxwell, 12, Birdie, 5, and Ace, 11. They tied the knot in 2014.
The singer has been criticized on social media for appearing too thin in an Instagram post and being accused of using Ozempic.
She addressed the speculation in an interview with Bustle last year.
"Oh Lord. I mean, it is not – it’s willpower," she said when asked whether Ozempic was involved. "I’m like, do people want me to be drinking again? Because that’s when I was heavier. Or they want me to be having another baby? My body can’t do it."
Simpson has been sober since 2017.
Kathy Bates
Kathy Bates clarified that she did not use Ozempic to lose weight after dropping 100 pounds in seven years.
Bates, 76, confessed to taking the medication but insisted that she made the effort herself, both mentally and physically.
The Academy Award-winning actress revealed her weight-loss journey, stating that she lost 80 pounds before using Ozempic. She admitted that the weight-loss drug helped her lose an additional 20 pounds.
"Bates clarified to People magazine that despite speculation that he was able to accomplish the task due to Ozempic, the achievement was the result of intense effort, particularly during the pandemic. He emphasized the difficulty of maintaining motivation and perseverance in the face of uncertainty."
In 2017, when she was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, the "Matlock" star decided to take control of her health.
"I ate out of fear and to spite my self-esteem," she said. "Diabetes runs in my family, and I witnessed my father's struggles with it. He had a leg amputation, and one of my sisters is dealing with it seriously. It terrified me."
The actress started her weight loss journey by modifying her diet and stopped eating past 8 p.m.
Her weight loss has been advantageous in numerous ways, including alleviating her lymphedema symptoms, a condition that results in swelling in the body.
"Wearing compression sleeves every day has been a tremendous burden for me," she says. "I'm grateful that I don't have to wear them anymore. It's such a joy to put my arm into a jacket and it fits perfectly," she told People.
Tom Arnold
Tom Arnold didn't use Ozempic to lose weight because he had never heard of the medication when he began his health journey, he told Planet Chronicle Digital.
In January 2022, Arnold decided to prioritize his health after experiencing a ministroke. The 65-year-old actor began working with fitness guru and personal development coach Charles D'Angelo, whom he met at a charity event hosted by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Since his health scare, the "Roseanne" alum has lost 80 pounds.
In September, D'Angelo confessed to Planet Chronicle Digital that he had attempted every diet throughout the years.
"In 1992, Roseanne and I, Oprah and John Goodman, were all taking Fen-Phen, a weight loss drug that we believed was great because we got it from a doctor. However, we all lost 100 pounds, and then people started dying from Fen-Phen. Eventually, it was pulled off the market. Now we're all saying, "Damn, that was good stuff.""
Although Ozempic seems great, I have to be careful with what I take because I'm sober.
Arnold, who has been sober for seven years, stated that he is not opposed to anything that helps people get healthy. However, he emphasized that the cardio aspect of working out is particularly beneficial for his mental health and sobriety.
Dave Bautista
In 2024, Dave Bautista, an actor from Marvel, confessed that he was intentionally losing weight by killing himself.
He revealed on "INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet" on YouTube in September that he began losing weight because he had gained too much.
"I gained a significant amount of weight for a role, but it was uncomfortable due to the rapid pace of the weight gain. I weighed around 315 pounds and added the weight through indulging in French fries and pancakes."
Bautista revealed that he gained weight for his part in the 2023 psychological horror movie "Knock at the Cabin."
"I realize now that I may have gone overboard. I was perhaps a bit too enthusiastic," Bautista stated. "I ended up gaining an excessive amount of weight, which was quite uncomfortable, and it took me a long time to lose it."
The more he lost weight, the better he felt, admitted the Marvel actor.
"As I lost weight, I looked better on camera and compared to other actors. However, even at my current height of 6'4" and 240 pounds, I still look like a gorilla next to typical actors, which is distracting."
He noted that his fans addressed concerns online about his dramatic weight loss.
"I'll likely shed a few more pounds. I'm practically sacrificing myself to be this lean. I mean, I'm working out intensely," he said. "My calorie intake is limited."
Bautista disclosed his diet plan that involves intermittent fasting and not eating three to four hours before bed, after the actor revealed he consumes only 2,500 calories daily.
