Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's pre-planned breakup
In September, online circulated documents that appeared to be from Full Scope PR, the public relations firm representing Travis Kelce.
The documents predicted that Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift would split up on Sept. 28, which was a few weeks after the documents were first released. The plan for managing the media surrounding the breakup was included in the documents, which were titled "Media Plan for Travis Kelce's Relationship Following Split with Taylor Swift."
Some individuals speculated that the alleged plan was proof that Swift and Kelce's relationship, which was made public in September, was not genuine.
Full Scope's representative told People that the documents were entirely false and fabricated, and were not created, issued, or authorized by the agency. The company also stated that they planned to initiate legal proceedings against those responsible for the unlawful and harmful forgery of documents.
Months later, Swift and Kelce are still going strong.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moving towards divorce
Since their union, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been the center of numerous speculations. This year, their individual public outings sparked rumors that a divorce was impending.
In October, Angela Levin, a royal biographer, discussed rumors with GB News, stating that problems with his visa and reports of him and Markle buying a new home in Portugal were indicative of trouble in their relationship.
"She claimed that he had issues with his visa, and they may need to reevaluate the problem, but he might still not be able to remain there. Perhaps this is why they are considering purchasing elsewhere. They stated that they would work separately, then bought a house in Portugal - it's unlikely that they would make such a purchase if they didn't intend to spend most of their time apart. I wonder if the house is in poor condition. However, I'm confident that they are attempting to resolve the issue."
During a recent interview with Andrew Ross Sorkin of the New York Times, Harry addressed the rumors surrounding his relationship with Meghan Markle. He spoke with Sorkin at the Dealbook Summit 2024 and clarified that Markle had stayed in California while he traveled to New York alone.
"Why are you doing independent events instead of doing them together?" Sorkin asked.
Prince Harry responded, "You should have anticipated this outcome since you invited me," before stating, "You should have anticipated this would happen."
"We've bought or moved house 10, 12 times, and apparently divorced just as many times. So what's the point?"
"He stated, "It's difficult to keep up with, but that's why you just ignore it. The people I feel most sorry about are the trolls. Their hopes are constantly built up, and it's like, 'Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,' and then it doesn't happen. So I feel sorry for them. Genuinely, I do.""
Jennifer Aniston dating Barack Obama
In October, Jennifer Aniston responded to rumors of an alleged affair with Barack Obama, which were first reported by In Touch Weekly in August and featured on the magazine's cover.
Aniston stated that after Kimmel showed her the magazine, she said, "That's the kind of call or email you get from your publicist where you're like, 'Oh no, what's it gonna be?' or a cheesy tabloid making up a story. And then it's that. I wasn't mad about it."
She assured him that the rumors were false, stating, "I know Michelle better than anyone else," before adding, "There is no truth to those outlandish stories."
Kimmel seized the chance to inquire about other rumors concerning Aniston, such as her alleged facial with salmon sperm and her denial of possessing a black belt in jiu-jitsu.
He also inquired if it was accurate that she possessed a "ziplock bag filled with your deceased therapist's ashes." The "Friends" actor confessed that it was "a bit true," humorously adding, "I'm going to need a therapist after this."
Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson split
In 2015, Chris Martin, the frontman of Coldplay, underwent a highly publicized "conscious uncoupling" with his wife Gwyneth Paltrow. Two years later, he started dating actress Dakota Johnson.
Their seven-year relationship had been mostly private, but in August, rumors began circulating that they had split up.
According to a source who spoke to the Daily Mail, Chris and Dakota have been trying to save their relationship for months, but they've ultimately decided that it's not sustainable in the long term. Despite their love for each other, they've come to the conclusion that their relationship cannot continue.
According to the alleged insider, Martin and Johnson are busy individuals with conflicting schedules, and despite their desire for it to work, their relationship hasn't been successful. They have now come to terms with the fact that it's best to move on.
Johnson's representative later denied the reports, stating that they are happily together.
Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White feud
Pat Sajak, who hosted "Wheel of Fortune" for over four decades, retired from the job this year. Last year, he announced his retirement and fans learned that Ryan Seacrest would take over the gig. It was also known at the time that Sajak's longtime co-host, Vanna White, would be staying with the show.
This summer, while Seacrest was filming episodes for the current season with White, there were rumors that White wanted to leave the show because it was challenging to do without Sajak. According to a Daily Mail report, White found it difficult to continue with the show without Sajak.
She doesn't mesh with Ryan as well as she did with Pat, and no one expected her to," the report stated. "It's impossible for her to continue with the show in its current format. She knows the show needs a change and a younger female host who can appeal to a younger audience. She wants the show to continue.
After rumors started in July, White posted a photo of herself with Seacrest on Instagram, captioning it "Friends on and off camera. Enjoying one of our favorites, Chicken and Dumplings!" to clarify that there were no problems between them.
For two decades, Seacrest and White have had a friendly relationship, which America may not be aware of.
After three months of hosting "Wheel of Fortune," it is evident that Seacrest and his partner have formed a strong bond.
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton calling it quits
In 2015, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton started dating after both of them went through high-profile divorces from Gavin Rossdale and Miranda Lambert, respectively.
Despite their marriage in 2021, there have been rumors of a split throughout their relationship. Earlier this year, speculation arose that Shelton's upcoming tour, which took him through the U.S. and Canada from February to March, could cause issues in their relationship.
In an April interview with Nylon magazine, Stefani swiftly refuted the speculation.
"When you're in love and have aligned values, no one can harm us," she stated. "You can say whatever you want about our relationship, but it's just lies. A week ago, we were getting divorced again, but the truth is that we know what that is."
In the interview, she explained that by "the truth" she meant, "I am in love with my best friend."
