Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt lose their home in Palisades Fire; other celebrities also evacuate the affluent area.
Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag announced on Snapchat that their home was destroyed by the Palisades Fire.
The Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles is experiencing a wildfire that has forced tens of thousands of people to evacuate, including celebrities whose homes have been consumed by the fire.
The Palisades Fire, fueled by powerful Santa Ana winds, started in the Santa Monica Mountains on Tuesday morning and rapidly consumed 200 acres in an hour, growing to almost 3,000 acres by sunset, according to FOX Weather.
On Tuesday, Orange County Fire Chief Brian Fennessy appeared on "Planet Chronicle @ Night" to provide an update on the ongoing battle against the fast-moving flames. However, he admitted that there isn't much that can be done to stop the fire, so crews are focusing on evacuating and rescuing anyone still in the area.
"Our primary objective is to remove people and lives from the path of these fires," Fennessy stated. "We can only do so much as get people out of harm's way and then attempt to extinguish the fires … especially in the Palisades, that has been the case today."
On Tuesday, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, who met on The Hills, announced on their Snapchat accounts that they had lost their home in the Palisades Fire.
In a series of videos, Pratt demonstrated how the fire rapidly spread across the hill and approached their residence.
"Pratt remarked, "This isn't looking good," as he filmed the fire on the mountain behind his home. He had never seen the flames come over before. "Aw, man. Okay, I'm going to go pack up," he said."
He later shared a video from his car, showing their home burning down on their security cameras.
In a grocery store, Montag shared a video confirming that their home had caught fire, but they were unharmed.
Chris Pratt, an actor, posted on X and requested that individuals unite in prayer for "the valiant firefighters who are giving so much to safeguard our homes and our community."
Pratt wrote: "Jesus safeguard the lives of those fighting the fire and those unable to escape."
Denise Crosby, who posted on X, stated that she, her husband, and dog are safe, but she is uncertain about the status of her house.
On Tuesday night, Crosby posted a video from a beach and later shared videos of smoke near an alley behind her home and on Sunset Boulevard.
James Woods shared videos of his home and neighbors' homes engulfed in smoke and flames on X. He stated that his family escaped safely, praised first responders and community members for evacuating children from nearby elementary schools.
""We are grateful to all those who have contacted us and expressed their concern. We are pleased to inform you that we were able to evacuate successfully. Unfortunately, I am unsure if our home is still standing, but it appears that houses on our street have been destroyed," Woods wrote on X."
Derek Hough, a professional dancer, posted pictures of the fire on Instagram and revealed that he and his wife are getting ready to evacuate with their pets.
"With winds reaching 100mph, we're preparing to evacuate with our five animals, as the power lines explode and fires spread rapidly, Hough wrote."
Hough expressed gratitude to firefighters for their bravery in keeping everyone safe and sent prayers and love to all affected by the fire.
