Gwen Stefani striving to safeguard her children despite releasing critical tune about their father.
In 2021, Stefani tied the knot with Blake Shelton, following her divorce from Gavin Rossdale in 2016.
In 2015, when Gwen Stefani and her husband Gavin Rossdale separated, there were reports that he had been unfaithful to her with a nanny.
But things are different now.
Stefani, who is happily married to country crooner Blake Shelton, finds comfort in revisiting her past through new music.
Despite appearing to criticize Rossdale in her fifth solo album, Gwen Stefani says she's doing so to protect the three children they share together.
Stefani stated that she was brought up by parents who embodied "the epitome of love."
""They met at 15, fell in love, and had children. They made us feel like we were everything to them. But when their love didn't last, it broke up their family. I didn't know how to protect my children and am still working on it," she told People magazine."
Stefani's sons, Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo, who she shares with Rossdale, are aware of what's happening in their own family and life before the release of her new album, "Bouquet."
"And what's real and what's true," she said.
The album, out on Nov. 15, includes a track, "Somebody Else," which was previously released. The song's harsh lyrics appear to portray a tumultuous relationship that she managed to break free from.
You're not mine, and that's okay / I don't feel anything for you / You're not mine, and I hope they're happy / Every day with you is a struggle / Leaving you was my salvation / Watching you bloom is a joy / You're someone else's burden.
"Manipulated, semi-psychotic / Gaslit my world, it was burning / Had to leave before it stopped turning / Narcissistic, semi-psychotic / So manipulated I bought it / Every time, but not this time."
While considering her children's emotions, Stefani also prioritizes the authenticity her fans expect from her music.
"I received the songs. Should I sit in the studio and work on them? I will. But how does that inspiration come from? Where do these words come from? They come to me, but they're given," she said.
"I believe it is my duty, regardless of whether I have children or not, to share my thoughts and feelings. Sharing my gift with others brings me joy. Furthermore, I am convinced that certain songs hold different meanings for me than for others because no one can truly understand my thoughts, emotions, or experiences. People will have a unique experience through the song."
Stefani shared her thoughts on her divorce from Rossdale a year later.
She recounted to Harper's Bazaar how it felt like six, seven, eight months of torture as she tried to unravel the mystery. Despite wanting to share the secret with everyone, she kept quiet, primarily for the sake of her children.
"Stefani shared with People that she had always dreamed of being married and having the love she saw her parents have, and having children. However, that dream was shattered, leaving her to find a new path and create a new dream. But, she said, God brought Blake into her life, providing her with the miracle she needed to move forward."
After meeting on "The Voice," She and Shelton tied the knot in 2021 after a prolonged romance.
Both Stefani and Rossdale were contacted by Planet Chronicle Digital for comment.
