After pictures of Valente and Bündchen surfaced online, there were rumors that they were dating just one month after Bündchen finalized her divorce from Tom Brady. However, a source told Planet Chronicle Digital at the time that none of it was true.
"She told The New York Times in March that it was the first time she was meeting someone who was a friend of hers first. Although she did not name Valente directly, she said, "It's very different. It is very honest, and it's very transparent.""
She refuted rumors that she and Valente began their relationship while she was still married to Brady, stating, "That's a lie." She added that such rumors often target women who leave unhealthy relationships and are labeled as unfaithful.

However, Matt had started getting recognized and asked for pictures and autographs. The situation became aggressive as people were drinking and partying, so Matt hid behind her bar."
She explained that she put him to work, and he ended up serving drinks with her all night. Although they hit it off that night, what really sealed the deal for Barroso was Damon's acceptance of her 4-year-old daughter, Alexia, now 25, saying some men would've found that "complicated, but it wasn't for him."
Since December 2005, the couple has welcomed three more daughters: Isabella, 18, Gia, 16, and Stella, 14.
