Frankie Muniz is transported to the ambulance after a severe collision during the NASCAR race: 'Severeely impacted'
On Friday in Arizona, a 'Malcolm in the Middle' alum was unexpectedly struck from behind while participating in the Craftsman Truck Series Championship.
Despite being injured in a multi-vehicle crash during a NASCAR race on Friday, Frankie Muniz is maintaining a positive outlook.
In Avondale, Arizona, during the Craftsman Truck Series Championship, a 38-year-old actor who became a professional race car driver was involved in a wreck on the Phoenix Raceway.
Noah Lewis, a sports reporter, posted a video on X, formerly Twitter, of Muniz limping and bending over while being assisted into an ambulance on the track after a crash. He wrote that Muniz had taken a "hard hit."
Muniz stated after the race that the crash was unfortunate, but he was "OK."
Muniz stated in a clip shared on X that he felt he had a great chance to run with some guys.
I made some passes, lost a few spots on restarts, then went back out and passed them again. This helped me learn how to get by people. It was a positive experience since I haven't had much opportunity to do so this year.
"Muniz stated, "We wanted to continue running, but there was no place for me to go. Suddenly, I was hit from behind and landed on the 42. The 42 was then moved, and the 18 stopped me. Despite this, I don't believe I could have done anything differently. It was a fortunate outcome, but unfortunate nonetheless.""
Muniz is already planning for the 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season, where he will be the full-time driver of the No. 33 Ford F-150 with the Reaume Brothers Racing team.
This season, he became a driver for Reaume Brothers, racing the No. 27 F-150.
"Muniz expressed gratitude for his team and excitement for the next season. Although this year did not meet their expectations, it demonstrated Muniz's ability to race with top-tier competitors and pass in challenging situations. With the entire off-season to prepare, Muniz and his team are confident that they will improve and achieve their goals in the upcoming season."
Last month, on "Fox & Friends," Muniz expressed his enthusiasm about being promoted to a full-time driver for the upcoming season.
"I can't believe it, it's a dream come true," he exclaimed. "I've always wanted to do this, and now I get to announce that I'll be doing it full-time next year. I'm thrilled and can't wait."
He also stated, "I am fully committed to this endeavor and will give it my all. My goal is to be fully prepared for the races and to become the best race car driver possible."
Muniz confessed that it was not a difficult choice for him to prioritize racing over acting.
He has been striving to cross the finish line first in a race for 20 years since he began racing, and the experience of achieving this goal for the first time has been a pursuit he has been chasing ever since.
"To become truly exceptional in any field, one must fully commit to it, as I am doing. I aim to demonstrate this through my racing performance and hope to achieve Top 10s, Top 5s, and ultimately, wins next year."
