Since he received his diagnosis, the day that used to bring excitement now leaves her with a heaviness in her heart and a pit in her stomach.
"She wrote in the caption, "I give myself 30 minutes to feel the anger and grief over 'why him, why us,' then shake it off and return to what is. What is... is unconditional love. I feel blessed to know it, and it's because of him. I'd do it all over again and again in a heartbeat.""
In 2007, Heming and Willis first met and later made their first public appearance as a couple in 2008. They got married in March 2009 at a ceremony in Turks and Caicos.
Since their marriage, they have welcomed two daughters, Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10. Their daughters, Mabel and Evelyn, join Willis' three older daughters from his previous marriage to actress Demi Moore: Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30.
Since their divorce in 2000, Moore and Willis have remained good friends and co-parents, spending holidays, birthdays, and other important days together.
Moore advised her daughters on "The Drew Barrymore Show" in September 2024 to meet their father where he is, rather than holding onto who he was or what they want him to be, but who he is in the present moment.
"As a result, there is so much beauty, joy, love, and sweetness."
She added, "I cherish the time we spend together in L.A. every week.
