Experts claim that King Charles is being haunted by Prince Andrew's "grubby" behavior as the "disgraceful" duke continues to humiliate the monarchy in what has been described as a "year from hell."
Yang Tengbo, a Chinese businessman with suspected ties to the Duke of York, has been banned from entering the UK.
Scandal-prone Prince Andrew strikes again.
The Chinese businessman, Yang Tengbo, has been banned from the U.K. due to allegations that he tried to influence British elites on behalf of the Chinese Communist Party. He denied any involvement in espionage and stated that he had not committed any wrongdoing or illegal activities.
After the scandal, it was reported that Andrew and his family will not be attending Christmas at Sandringham with the royals.
Helena Chard, a British broadcaster and photographer, told Planet Chronicle Digital that it has been a difficult year for King Charles due to his poor health.
The monarch, 76, was supposed to reflect during Christmas, but it has been overshadowed by another Andrew problem.
A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that they do not represent the Duke of York. Meanwhile, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, did not respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's request for comment.
Hilary Fordwich, a British royals expert, stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that Prince Andrew has caused embarrassment to the royal family, which is frustrating for his brother, the king, who believes his brother to be "at best gullible, at worst grubby."
"The king's brother, Prince Andrew, has unsavory associations that are disconcerting to the king, and some people believe he should lose his military honorary titles and the Order of the Garter if it is proven he has been involved in activities that have resulted in breaches of British National Security."
Andrew, 64, has consistently been the subject of tabloid attention due to his financial difficulties and associations with dubious individuals, such as the deceased American businessman and convicted child molester Jeffrey Epstein.
In 2022, Queen Elizabeth II removed Andrew from his royal duties and charity roles before his death. Recently, Charles has attempted to convince his brother to reduce his expenses by leaving his expansive royal estate and moving to the smaller Frogmore Cottage, which is situated within the security perimeter of Windsor Castle. However, Andrew continues to reside in the 30-room Royal Lodge.
"Richard Fitzwilliams, a royal expert, stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that he believes the king is deeply frustrated with his brother, Andrew, who he considers "pure poison" to those who want the monarchy to be taken seriously."
"The focus has shifted to the lunch hosted by Charles for his extended family at Buckingham Palace on Thursday, as stated by Fitzwilliams. If Andrew is seen entering the royal headquarters, it would be disrespectful and detract from the significance of the event."
Andrew claimed that no sensitive topics were ever discussed and he ended contact with the Chinese businessman as soon as concerns arose. Nevertheless, many in the U.K. believe the king should take a more assertive stance to prevent Andrew from further damaging his reputation.
"The monarchy is starting to feel the negative consequences of Prince Andrew's repeated mistakes, as Chard pointed out."
"Prince Andrew has brought shame on the royal family, which is exasperating for his brother the king, who is thought to view his brother as ‘at best gullible, at worst grubby.'" — Hilary Fordwich, British royals expert
"King Charles recognizes the need to manage the Prince Andrew crisis, as Prince Andrew is still part of the royal family and must not be seen with the family in public, said Chard."
According to Planet Chronicle Digital, royal expert Ian Pelham Turner stated that Andrew has been trying to maintain a low profile amidst the ongoing Chinese spy scandal.
"Some people believe that Andrew has reached the end of his career, but King Charles is known for struggling to make tough decisions regarding his younger brother. On the other hand, Andrew's nephew, Prince William, may adopt a more stringent approach if there are any more indiscretions."
In 2001, Andrew, who had spent 22 years in the Royal Navy and participated in combat operations as a helicopter pilot during the Falklands War, was appointed Britain's special representative for international trade and investment.
He resigned due to mounting concerns about his relationship with Epstein, who was convicted of soliciting a minor for prostitution and received an 18-month prison sentence.
Andrew faced criticism for meeting with the sons of Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi and the son-in-law of ousted Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.
In 2007, concerns were raised by some members of Parliament about the sale of Andrew's former home, Sunninghill Park, to a son-in-law of former Kazakh ruler Nursultan Nazarbayev.
Although Andrew continues to face royal difficulties, Kinsey Schofield, host of the To Di For Daily podcast, stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that the king will not forget the pledge he made to his mother.
"Queen Elizabeth's last years were spent in despair over the turmoil surrounding not only Prince Harry and Meghan Markle but also Prince Andrew, she claimed. "I am confident that King Charles promised his mother that he would do everything in his power to take care of his brother, no matter what the circumstances are. The king has made it a point not to humiliate Andrew throughout the Royal Lodge drama," she stated."
"Schofield stated that there are rumors that the king secretly continues to fund certain aspects of Prince Andrew's life. Last Christmas, Charles showed solidarity with the Yorks by including them in their Christmas celebrations. Prince William described the Chinese spy saga as a "brutal" year, and the monarchy wants to end things on a positive note and inspire hope for the transition into 2025."
Schofield stated that this story demonstrates that Prince Andrew lacks sound judgment and remains a burden not only to the monarchy but also to the government.
"The Duke of York's title could be revoked by Parliament in extreme circumstances. The palace should maintain transparency and emphasize the monarchy's commitment to accountability and integrity."
In 2019, Andrew announced he was temporarily stepping away from royal duties due to a major disruption caused by his association with Epstein.
In 2021, one of Epstein's accusers claimed that the prince had sex with her when she was a minor. Despite his denials, Andrew eventually settled the case with an undisclosed amount of money.
A statement suggested that Andrew would contribute a significant sum to a charity for victims' rights. According to British media, the settlement amounts varied from $6 million to $16 million.
The solution to the king's newest Andrew problem is simple, said Chard.

"Andrew's family recognizes that he needs to be kept hidden away, as opening a can of worms could lead to further scandals being unearthed. The public demands more transparency, but the solution is to keep things simple."
"Prince Andrew's reputation can be salvaged with the help of a life coach, as it will demonstrate his commitment to personal growth and improvement. The controversies surrounding him may eventually fade into insignificance."
