Experts believe that the royals are indifferent about Meghan Markle's Netflix show, as she has closed the chapter on her relationship with the family.
The Netflix series 'With Love, Meghan' featuring the Duchess of Sussex will be released on January 15.
The Duchess of Sussex has returned, but not all are embracing her return with open arms.
Meghan Markle, the former American actress, has returned to social media and is set to premiere her Netflix lifestyle series, "With Love, Meghan," on January 15. As the mother of two, she serves as both host and executive producer.
Experts claimed to Planet Chronicle Digital that the British royal family won't be among the viewers tuning in for the event, despite both critics and fans being interested.
According to Kinsey Schofield, host of the "To Di For Daily" podcast, Prince William and Kate Middleton have no interest in Meghan's future projects.
"Meghan was a minor character in a past chapter, according to a palace source, and courtiers don't see her as valuable enough to occupy mental space."
Netflix is not providing screeners to the palace or anyone else, so they will watch the show in real-time with the audience.
"Courtiers are relieved that Meghan has paused her criticism of the institution in relation to the superficial celebrity-centric theme."
"Meghan does still make news and the Sussex brand still fascinates. But… [the series] looked pretty superficial to me. I wondered where the Kardashians were… The royals just couldn’t give a damn." — Richard Fitzwilliams, royal expert
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams asserted that the royals were indifferent.
""The Sussex brand still fascinates, but the series looked superficial to me. I wondered where the Kardashians were," he said."
Before marrying Britain's Prince Harry in 2018, Meghan, 43, starred in the legal drama "Suits." Following her engagement in 2017, she shut down her lifestyle blog, The Tig, which showcased her love of cooking.
As a new member of the royal family, one of her first initiatives was to collaborate with the Hubb Community Kitchen on a fundraising cookbook.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex left their roles as senior royals in 2020 and relocated to California. They later signed a lucrative Netflix deal worth $100 million.
In 2022, the couple released their docuseries "Harry & Meghan," which chronicled their love story and challenges with royal life. The show was a massive hit for the streaming giant.
According to People magazine, Netflix's "Polo" sports docuseries, which debuted in December, had difficulty gaining popularity on the platform's top 10 charts.
The Duchess of Sussex's first solo hosting project for Netflix is "With Love, Meghan." She also revealed her upcoming lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, last year. Her celebrity friends showcased her strawberry jam on Instagram.
After facing a "brutal year," the royal family will continue to prioritize duty, as shared by experts.
In early 2024, both King Charles III and Kate were diagnosed with cancer. In September, the Princess of Wales announced she had completed her chemotherapy treatment. It is understood that the king is still undergoing treatment.
Helena Chard, a British broadcaster and photographer, stated that Prince William is proud of his father and wife for their handling of the challenging year with empathy, strength, and determination. Additionally, he continues to be his family's rock while overseeing multiple philanthropic projects at home and abroad.
"Empathetic leadership is needed globally, and the king has shown strong leadership despite his health issues. However, the British royal family may not be interested in Meghan's celebrity cookery reality show, which they perceive as inauthentic, cringey, and vacuous."
""Our royal family, having weathered a tumultuous year, is grateful, hopeful, and optimistic about the future. Meghan has become less relevant, and as long as the Netflix reality TV show doesn't harm the royal family's reputation, it will remain uninvolved," said Chard."
The king, 76, would likely want Meghan's show to succeed, as there is good reason for it.
Chard stated that he hopes Harry and Meghan maintain their financial independence and do not rely on him for support.
Schofield agreed.
"The king believes that Harry and Meghan can move beyond their bitterness if they achieve their goals and find purpose and professional success, as he knows this is what they desire."
The royal expert Ian Pelham Turner stated that despite the royals' dislike, the series will continue to generate interest and headlines, featuring appearances from actresses such as Mindy Kaling, Tracy Robbins, Brian Robbins' wife, and Abigail Spencer, among others.
"Meghan will excel this year, as she is a skilled performer with a professional mindset. The royal family will likely remain silent on the competition and enlist their PR teams to maintain their image as the perfect royal family. They may quietly seethe and use their teams to find a way to promote their brand while stirring up interest in Meghan's show in the UK media."
"Any outsider effort will never be enough to make the royal family feel inferior," Pelham Turner stated.
"The Firm" has had a royal on a TV show before, as pointed out by Schofield.
Sarah Ferguson's career path is more similar to Meghan's than any other rogue royal, according to the speaker.
"Sarah was featured in 'The Duchess in Hull' and 'The Duchess on the Estate,' where she shared advice on healthy living. Additionally, she took part in the Oprah Winfrey-produced reality show 'Finding Sarah: From Royalty to the Real World.'"
Rumors are circulating that Meghan is planning to release a cookbook, which would complement Fergie's 'Dining with the Duchess: Making Everyday Meals a Special Occasion' cookbook.
"Fergie has accomplished something that Meghan is unlikely to achieve, which is regaining access to the royal family. Sarah has taken care not to criticize the institution."

Emma Thynn, Marchioness of Bath, is already known for her cooking series, according to British royal expert Hilary Fordwich.
"Emma Fordwich is viewed as the "real deal," not only as a successful philanthropist, but an accepted, much-loved member of the British aristocracy, bringing genuine authenticity."
"Authenticity can’t be faked," Fordwich added.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's children were featured in a series filmed near their Montecito home.
