Expert reveals that King Charles is pining for Prince Harry, while Prince William remains firm on an "absolute ban."
The Duke of Sussex is currently in South Africa for a 4-day trip, having previously visited New York City and London.
Prince Harry did not meet with King Charles or Prince William during his brief visit to his home country, but royal experts informed Planet Chronicle Digital that the monarch has been missing his "dearest son."
On Sept. 30, the Duke of Sussex attended the 2024 WellChild Awards ceremony in London. As per People magazine, the 40-year-old had no plans to meet the king, 75, or the Prince of Wales, 42, while he was in England.
The outlet reported that Harry invited his father and brother to the Invictus Games commemoration in May, but they did not meet.
Buckingham Palace declined to comment on the matter when contacted by Planet Chronicle Digital, and the Archewell organization was also unavailable for comment.
Hilary Fordwich, a British royals expert, stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that the king is more likely to engage in peace talks with his younger son when he deems it necessary.
King Charles III, whom Prince William won't challenge, still misses his "darling boy" and would like to see more of Prince Harry, Fordwich explained.
"Despite the release of his memoir "Spare" and the Netflix series, as well as everything else Harry has said, done, and not done, it is Prince William who adamantly refuses to speak to his brother."
"If anyone would relent, it would be King Charles III, whom, of course, Prince William won’t challenge. [He] still misses his ‘darling boy’ and would like to see more of Prince Harry." — Hilary Fordwich, British royals expert
Fordwich stated that trust is the main issue with Prince Harry. According to him, Prince William is the least likely royal to forgive Harry for his mistakes. He has now become the family enforcer, adopting a strict ruler role like his grandfather, Prince Philip.
"It is widely known within the family that Prince William has imposed an absolute ban on Harry returning to the royal family in any form."
Since 2020, Harry's relationship with his family has been strained due to his and Meghan Markle's decision to step back as senior royals. The couple cited unbearable intrusions and racist attitudes from the British press as the reasons for their departure.
Since then, the father of two has shared his tumultuous relationship with his family through TV interviews, a documentary, and his memoir.
People magazine reported that Harry's attempts to reach his father through calls, letters, texts, and messages are consistently ignored.
King Charles and Queen Camilla are currently in Scotland to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Scottish Parliament on Sept. 28. Meanwhile, Harry is in South Africa on a four-day trip.
According to royal expert Ian Pelham Turner, William and Harry will not meet each other despite being just a short distance apart, as claimed by Planet Chronicle Digital.
"Pelham Turner stated that the ongoing feud between the two brothers is not surprising to him, and King Charles is currently busy preparing for his trip to Australia. Additionally, the sight of Prince William attending a charity helicopter event with David Beckham, who is also friends with Harry, is another blow to the royal family."
While Charles misses his son, he is unable to forgive him for portraying Camilla as the villain in "Spare," as previously claimed by Christopher Andersen, author of "The King," to Planet Chronicle Digital.
Expert: Prince Harry's criticism of Queen Camilla is unforgivable for King Charles.
"Andersen stated that Charles finds criticism of Camilla unforgivable, and unfortunately for Harry, he made some devastating remarks about her, labeling her as the villain in the piece. The king is still bothered by this, and it may be difficult for him to forgive Harry. Andersen believes that they will never forgive Harry for his comments about Camilla."
Andersen stated that the Duke of Sussex was on his own.
In interviews promoting his book, Harry accused his stepmother, 77, of leaking private conversations to the media to improve her own reputation. He accused members of the royal family of "getting into bed with the devil" to gain favorable tabloid coverage, specifically mentioning Camilla's efforts to rehabilitate her image with the public after her longtime affair with his father.
"Harry revealed to CBS that the connections she was forging within the British press made her dangerous. There was an open willingness on both sides to trade information. With a family built on hierarchy and her on the path to becoming queen consort, there would be people or bodies left in the street."
The allegations against Camilla were highly sensitive due to her involvement in the dissolution of Charles' marriage to Princess Diana, who was Harry's mother.
The Princess of Wales once referred to Camilla, who had a long-term affair with Charles, as the third person in their marriage. Despite initial public rejection, Camilla has gained support through her charitable work and has helped Charles adapt to modern British culture.
Harry expressed his complex emotions about his father's 2005 marriage to Camilla, stating that he believed his new stepmother had recently put him on her personal PR altar.
Still, he says he wanted his father to be happy.
"Even though Camilla was dangerous, I secretly wished for her happiness. Perhaps if she was content, she wouldn't pose such a threat."
Andersen claimed that Harry still "resents" Camilla.
According to Andersen, Prince William and Prince Harry opposed their father's marriage to Camilla. They attempted to persuade him against it, but ultimately had to present a public image of acceptance. It took Charles a long time, over several decades, to convince his mother to accept Camilla as his future spouse.
"During the 2002 Trooping the Colour events, Queen Elizabeth II began to crack a little bit and allowed Camilla to appear with the royal family for the first time. Later, during the Diamond Jubilee, because Prince Philip was briefly ill with pneumonia, the queen allowed Camilla to ride with her in the royal carriage."
Andersen stated that it was evident at that moment that the queen had decided to set aside her past emotions and welcome Camilla into the royal family. The king had been pushing the queen to accept Camilla for a long time, using various methods. It is important to remember that the king had promised never to make Camilla queen. This promise still bothers both Harry and William.
"Unfortunately, Charles promised he would never make Camilla queen, as he believed the people's feelings towards Diana would prevent him from doing so. However, he ultimately went against his word and crowned her. As a result, both William and Harry feel a sense of betrayal on this issue to this day."
Harry will struggle to reconcile with someone other than his father or stepmother, according to Andersen's statement.
"Andersen stated that William is the most challenging individual in the current situation. He has taken Harry's comments about him very personally and is moody. Although he is highly charming and skilled in interpersonal relationships, Andersen believes that William is the most moody person he has ever met. Despite his great people skills, William is extremely stubborn and resistant to change."
