Expert: Meghan Markle prioritizes Hollywood image while Prince William and Kate Middleton focus on duty.
The Netflix series 'With Love, Meghan' was delayed by the Duchess of Sussex due to the LA fires.
Meghan Markle continues to make headlines in ritzy Montecito while Prince William and Kate Middleton are taking the high road.
Hilary Fordwich, a British royals expert, stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that the Duke and Duchess of Wales are prioritizing their duties as the Princess of Wales prepares to launch her lifestyle series in March.
"Fordwich stated that Prince William and Catherine are content to maintain a distance from Meghan Markle to prevent any future controversies, as stability and service are crucial to their lives. He added that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Netflix deal does not align with either of those values."
Queen Elizabeth II suffered a "final blow" when Meghan Markle postponed her series, according to palace insiders who spoke to the U.K.'s Daily Mail.
The 43-year-old "didn't hesitate" to delay the launch of "With Love, Meghan" due to the Los Angeles fires. Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to air their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, despite Prince Philip's illness. Harry's grandfather passed away four weeks later.
"Prince William and Catherine are known to be glad to retain a distance from Meghan Markle, thereby avoiding any potential entanglement in future controversies. Stability and service are paramount to the couple as they anticipate their lives being dedicated to both. There isn’t anything furthering either of those values in Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s deal with Netflix." — Hilary Fordwich, British royals expert
Experts believed Meghan's decision to postpone her series was reasonable, while Fordwich considered the Sussexes a significant hindrance to the monarchy's image.
According to Christopher Andersen, author of "The King," the Daily Mail's report about Meghan and Harry is "utter nonsense" and just one more indication of how the U.K. tabloid press tries to attack the couple.
"While there may be many things to criticize about the Sussexes, this isn't one of them," he said. "Comparing the Oprah interview, which the Sussexes had no control over, to their decision to postpone Meghan's lifestyle show because of the LA fires is a false equivalence. Prince Philip had been frequently hospitalized in his final years; at 99 years old, going in and out of the hospital had become routine."
""Meghan had no choice but to postpone the roll-out of their new Netflix series, given the circumstances," Andersen pointed out. "Giving lifestyle and cooking tips while thousands of their neighbors' homes were burning to the ground wouldn't have gone over well, to say the least," Andersen emphasized."
The Prince and Princess of Wales are reportedly not giving Meghan's latest project any attention. Instead, they are concentrating on raising their three children and supporting King Charles III, who is still undergoing treatment for an undisclosed type of cancer.
Fordwich claimed that this development strengthens Prince William's inclination to maintain a distance from the couple.
It is thought that William does not have a relationship with his younger brother.
According to Kinsey Schofield, host of the "To Di For Daily" podcast, it was the streaming giant, not the duchess, who decided to pause the series "With Love, Meghan." The series was originally set to premiere on Jan. 15.
"She claimed that her sources said Netflix was eager to postpone Meghan's show to avoid harsh criticism. She also claimed that she would not be surprised if they used the entire month and a half to make much-needed edits to the final product."
According to an author, Meghan Markle has moved on from the royal family drama.
"Schofield claimed that the royal family recognized Meghan's self-centered nature a long time ago and set boundaries to protect their emotional wellbeing. However, Meghan continues to prioritize herself at their expense, and the only solution is to keep her at a distance. The relationship is toxic and one-sided, and it's not about being cruel, it's about recognizing the need for separation."
Since their departure from the royal family in 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been making headlines for airing their grievances.
In late 2022, they shared their struggles with royal life to Winfrey and later released their Netflix docuseries, "Harry & Meghan." Then, in early 2023, Harry published his memoir, "Spare."
Each launch highlighted new allegations about their time as royals.
Meghan Markle's new show, "With Love, Meghan," will showcase her love for cooking and gardening alongside her celebrity friends. However, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams claims that the royal family has not forgotten the couple's past tell-alls.
"Netflix made the decision to postpone the show, as claimed by Fitzwilliams. It was impossible to show it at the current time, and she had no choice but to request a postponement. The online reaction to it has been highly negative, and there is always the possibility that it may be postponed again. The show is described as saccharine and contrived."
"The royal family will not forget the shameful fact that the Oprah interview went ahead while Prince Philip was in the hospital, the couple did not know this when it was originally planned, but it went ahead nonetheless. This was an utterly ruthless and shameful episode. The royal family has not forgotten, and they have other concerns today."
Fordwich claimed that the timing of the Oprah interview, which caused Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip untold anguish, was completely unforgivable.
The Princess of Wales has kept her distance from Kate and Meghan since their exit from the royal family.
From the start, Kate and Meghan were not what Andersen considered a love match. Their relationship was always chilly, even before their heated argument over the flower girls' dresses at Harry and Meghan's wedding.
Despite Kate's efforts to reunite the brothers after Megxit, the Sussexes' public criticism of the royal family during the Oprah interview and in Harry's memoir 'Spare' made it impossible.
"Kate resigned herself to the situation and left it to William and Harry to resolve their differences," Andersen stated. "Meghan, on the other hand, remained indifferent to the conflict and continued with her work in California."
The Sussexes have "zero intention of apologizing for anything," as claimed by Andersen.
"Zero" he emphasized. "Despite their conviction that they are the wronged party in this royal drama, Kate may be able to let go and move on, but King Charles and Prince William are not in a forgiving disposition. The situation has escalated beyond repair, and the wounds are too deep to heal."
Kate declared that she has been "cancer-free" and is now concentrating on her future.
"Being in remission is a relief, and I am focused on recovery. Although adjusting to a new normal after a cancer diagnosis can be challenging, I am excited for a fulfilling year ahead. There are many things to look forward to."
