Expert: Kate Middleton urges reconciliation between Prince William and Prince Harry while remaining loyal to her 'angry' husband.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were absent from Scotland's Balmoral Castle, where Prince and Princess of Wales joined the rest of the royals.
As the rift between Prince William and Prince Harry continues to deepen, Kate Middleton is focusing on her well-being.
On Sunday, the Princess of Wales, who is battling an undisclosed form of cancer, was seen arriving at Crathie Church on the Balmoral Estate with her husband driving her.
Balmoral Castle, a sprawling, 50,000-acre estate, is where the royal family traditionally spends the rest of the summer months in private. Queen Elizabeth II referred to it as her "paradise in the highlands," according to Perthnow, an Australian website.
According to People magazine's sources, Harry and Meghan Markle were not invited to join the other royals.
According to Christopher Andersen, author of "The King," Kate and Harry's relationship has cooled off, and she has no plans to mediate their conflict at the moment.
"Andersen stated that Kate and Harry had a special bond, as they shared the same goofy sense of humor and laughed at the same jokes. Harry often referred to Kate as the sister he never had. Despite this, Kate wished for the brothers to kiss and make up, as it would lift one cloud from the royal family's head."
"Kate is loyal to her husband above all else, Andersen shared. She understands why William is still fuming and will not pressure him while he has a lot on his plate, including his own cancer and the king's cancer battle."
"Andersen stated that Harry's absence from Balmoral Castle this summer is a clear indication that the royal family, including Kate, prefer to keep him out of sight and out of mind."
Despite being shielded from the Sussexes' drama for some time, the Princess of Wales is still very concerned.
"According to one source, Kate looks at Harry and sees a lost soul. Despite still being fond of him, she is saddened by the situation where he has excommunicated himself from the family and there is a wall that cannot be broken down."
Andersen agreed with the claims.
"But above all else, Kate is loyal to her husband. She understands completely why William is still fuming. Kate is not about to pressure William while he has so much on his plate, notably her cancer and the king's cancer battle as well." — Christopher Andersen, author of "The King"
"In the beginning, Kate tried to reunite the brothers," Andersen stated. "One of the most emotional moments in this entire story occurred during Prince Philip's funeral in April 2021, when Kate stepped aside to allow the brothers to be together as they exited the funeral service and ascended to Windsor Castle."
"Kate tried to soften up her husband, but he trashed William and Charles in his memoir 'Spare' two years later, causing Kate to throw up her hands in frustration."
Since January, there had been speculation on social media about Kate's health after she was hospitalized for unspecified abdominal surgery. In March, Kate confirmed her diagnosis of cancer and revealed that she was undergoing chemotherapy.
The British royal requested "privacy while I complete my treatment."
The princess later confessed in a private letter that "there are good days and bad days." She also stated her intention to participate in "a few public engagements during the summer, but equally aware that I am not yet out of the woods."
Kate attended Trooping the Colour in June and Wimbledon a month later, but skipped Garter Day, Royal Ascot, and a Japan state visit to the U.K.
According to Kinsey Schofield, host of the To Di For Daily podcast, Harry and Meghan are not currently on the Prince and Princess of Wales' radar. Catherine is still undergoing chemotherapy, is still fatigued, and is concentrating on her health and family.
""Kate's health, the future of their family, and the future of the crown are now the focus of the royals," Schofield claimed."
Harry has a strained relationship with his family and has seen his father infrequently since the couple quit royal duties in 2020. The couple cited unbearable intrusions and racist attitudes of the British press as the reasons for stepping back as senior royals. Harry's father has since detailed his rocky relationship with his family in TV interviews, a documentary, and his memoir, "Spare."
Harry's spokesperson stated that King Charles III was too busy to meet with him during his May visit to London for the Invictus Games anniversary. It is reported that William and Harry are not on speaking terms.
"According to royal expert Hilary Fordwich, Princess Catherine grew up in a content family with no sibling rivalries or parental conflicts. Her tranquility can be attributed to the stable and steady upbringing she received. On the other hand, Prince William experienced bitter disputes between his parents, Princess Diana and King Charles, which may have contributed to his turbulent personality."
"Fordwich stated that the recent betrayals by Prince Harry have deeply affected William, who was devastated by the revelations in 'Spare.' As a result, he no longer trusts his brother, whom he once considered his closest confidant."
Fordwich stated that those closest to the Princess of Wales have been safeguarding her from the current rift, but it is unsettling to her.
According to Royal expert Ian Pelham Turner, there is a possibility that the Sussexes may return to the U.K., but not for the usual reasons.
"According to Pelham Turner, Meghan will be working extensively across Britain with her husband on a major PR campaign. Their goal is to increase their public presence and establish themselves as a dominant force. However, this may leave little time for reconciliations, as it seems like an all-out war to eliminate any perceived opposition."
"Although I hope King Charles and Camilla have a successful round of global events, their royal family is in complete disarray," Pelham Turner stated. "However, I remain optimistic and hope for their unity in the future."
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently based in California and are focusing on their roles there, while it is uncertain when Kate will resume her public duties.
