Elvis Presley gave Donny Osmond one piece of advice that he treasures as a teen.
Donny Osmond honored his deceased brother Wayne on New Year's Day by paying tribute to him.
Donny Osmond is recalling the most valuable guidance he received from the "monarch" of rock 'n' roll.
At a young age, Elvis Presley's words of wisdom resonated with Osmond, now 67 years old.
People reported that Osmond recounted the time they spoke with Elvis, who said he would have gotten closer to his fans if he could relive the experience.
"At 14 years old, his statement greatly impacted me. The 'king' of rock 'n' roll expressing his desire for closer connections with his fans, despite his fame and isolation, resonated deeply with me. This is one of the reasons why I pursue this activity, as it was inspired by the 'king.'"
In 2017, Osmond shared on "Lorraine" that he had met Presley and found him to be the "nicest guy." He also emphasized how Presley's demeanor reminded him of the significance of being a "real person."
Osmond discussed his use of a modern approach with social media in 2024 and shared that he enjoys engaging with his fans as he reflected on his musical career.
He remarked, "Imagine what I could have accomplished with social media during the 'Puppy Love' era."
On the same day that Osmond made his remarks, his brother Wayne, a founding member of The Osmond Brothers, passed away at the age of 73 from a massive stroke on New Year's Day. Wayne was also Marie Osmond's brother.
The Osmond family announced the peaceful passing of Wayne Osmond, their cherished husband and father, on Thursday through a statement on Amy Osmond Cook's Facebook page.
The world has been touched by the legacy of faith, music, love, and laughter of many individuals.
"The family stated that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true, families are forever, and banana splits are the best dessert, and added that they love him and will miss him dearly."
Donny also took to Instagram to pay tribute to his older brother.
Donny wrote that his brother Wayne passed away peacefully last night from a stroke. He was grateful for the chance to visit him in the hospital before he passed. Wayne was a source of light, laughter, and love for everyone who knew him, including Donny. He was an optimist and was cherished by all.
I can confidently say that we were all fortunate to have Wayne as a brother. Although we are currently separated in this physical world, I believe that through the grace and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we will reunite with Wayne for eternity.
"I love you, Wayne."
