Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson denies rumors of chronic lateness on set, claiming they are unfounded and cost production nothing.
The 'Red One' by Johnson makes its debut on November 15th.
Earlier this year, rumors about Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's professionalism on movie sets circulated and caused headlines.
In a profile with GQ Magazine, Johnson mentioned The Wrap's article about his upcoming film "Red One." The original article, published in April, claimed that Johnson was consistently late on set, resulting in a significant financial loss for the production.
Johnson acknowledged his tardiness and said, "Yeah, that happens," before expressing his disbelief at the amount The Wrap reported. He added, "But not that amount. That was a bananas amount. That’s crazy. Ridiculous," to GQ.
Johnson's spokesperson did not reply to Planet Chronicle Digital's inquiry for a comment.
"Jake Kasdan, director of "Red One," revealed to GQ that Dwayne Johnson never missed a day of work and is always busy. Despite being late sometimes, such is the norm in Hollywood. Kasdan has worked with Johnson on three big movies and has always found him to be kind to everyone on set."
Johnson's co-star, Chris Evans, defended him, stating that his experience working with the star differed from the rumors that have been circulating.

Evans stated that compared to other actors he has seen in movies, Dwayne stands out as someone who is conscious of other people's time and efforts, and is predictable in his actions.
Johnson consistently did a morning workout before arriving on set, as noted by Evans.
According to Evans, the producers, director, and his team are aware that he arrives slightly later on certain mornings, which is part of the plan and has been worked into the schedules. Therefore, he is not considered late, and everyone knows when he is supposed to arrive.
In the spring, it was reported by The Wrap that Johnson would urinate in a container while filming, which he later confessed to.
"Yeah. That happens," he told GQ.
Johnson stated that he is straightforward and will confront issues that require him to be held "responsible."
He repeatedly stated, "Come and ask me, I'm here and I'll tell you the truth."
In the holiday film "Red One," Johnson portrays Santa Claus' bodyguard, Callum Drift, who teams up with Evans' bounty hunter character to locate him after he was abducted.
Besides Johnson and Evans, the movie also features Kiernan Shipka, Lucy Liu, and J.K. Simmons.
GQ reported that Evans shared a tale about their experience on the set of "Red One" when Johnson took part in "Five-Dollar Fridays." According to the outlet, the cast and crew of film productions would purchase raffle tickets, and after the day ended, they would draw a name.
According to Evans, Dwayne would often participate in games where the pot was up to four or five grand, but on one occasion, Dwayne asked what the current pot amount was, and someone replied that it was four grand. Dwayne then suggested calling it 20, and they proceeded to pull out a name, with whoever won losing it.
Dwayne asked, "Should we do it again? How about 30 this time?" Everyone was ecstatic. Then he said, "One more?" And it was 50. Dwayne gave away close to a hundred thousand dollars on one Friday.
"Red One" debuts in theaters on Nov. 15.
