While auditioning for "The Wolf of Wall Street," Leonardo DiCaprio was slapped by Margot Robbie, causing her to believe she might be arrested.

While the two were supposed to be reading a kissing scene, an impromptu moment occurred when Robbie decided a different move would work better for the script. The last line from DiCaprio was, "Come over here and kiss me."

""I couldn't wait to share with my friends that I thought about kissing Leonardo DiCaprio during an episode of the 'Talking Pictures' podcast," she recalled."

"Then I thought, 'Nah,' and punched him in the face," Robbie stated.

"I was like, ‘You’re going to get arrested. I’m pretty sure that’s assault, battery. Not only will you never work again, but actually you will go to jail for this, you idiot. And also, why did you have to do it so hard? You could have done it lighter.'" — Margot Robbie

"The actress, who was 22 years old at the time, recounted the moment of dead silence that lasted for what felt like an eternity but was probably only three seconds. Then, Leo and Marty burst out laughing so hard that they exclaimed, "That was great.""

Robbie was concerned about getting arrested and ruining her career due to an off-script move.

"At the time, she thought, "You're going to get arrested for assault and battery. Not only will you never work again, but you'll go to jail for this. And why did you have to do it so hard? You could have done it lighter.""

The film "Wolf of Wall Street," starring DiCaprio, Hill, and McConaughey, catapulted Robbie into the limelight as Naomi Lapaglia. The movie was based on the true story of Jordan Belfort, a former stockbroker who was convicted of financial crimes, including stock market manipulation and fraud.

The newfound fame that came with the "Barbie" role caught the actress off guard.

In the early stages, something was happening and it was all terrible. I remember telling my mom, "I don't think I want to do this," she shared with Vanity Fair in 2022.

"She stared at me with a straight face and said, "Darling, it's too late not to move forward.""
