During a TV interview, 'Law & Order: SVU' star Mariska Hargitay had a real-life hero moment.
For 26 seasons, Olivia Benson, portrayed by Mariska Hargitay, has been a central character on 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit'.
Mariska Hargitay's "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" character came to life recently.
Before Thanksgiving, Hargitay appeared on "Today" for a pre-taped interview, showcasing her heroic actions.
A source told Page Six that a "woman with a cane fell in the middle of the crosswalk, and Willie Geist helped her up and walked her before Hargitay arrived."
As the "SVU" star entered the scene, another pedestrian fell as he lost control of his electric wheelchair when the wheel came off. Mariska and Willie rushed to his aid, and the cameraman, too. The insider stated that Willie and the guy with the camera hoisted the man up in his chair while Mariska fixed the wheel.
A spokesperson for "Today" confirmed the interaction.
Olivia Benson, portrayed by Hargitay on "SVU," filmed her interview at a court location where the show is shot. The interview will be aired on Jan. 12, 2025.
Hargitay has previously portrayed her "Law & Order" character in real life.
On April 10 in New York City, Hargitay filmed "SVU" while wearing detective gear, which made her look like a police officer. A young girl, unaware of the cast and crew, approached her, thinking she was a real-life officer and asking for help finding her mother.
Swiftly, Hargitay leaped into action, embodying her character Olivia Benson from the show.
With Hargitay's assistance, the young girl was eventually reunited with her mother.
The 26th season of "SVU" premiered in October and is currently on a holiday break, with the show set to resume on January 16th.
Benson, portrayed by Hargitay, is the longest-running live-action character on the longest-running, prime-time live-action series in American television history.
