Drew Barrymore reveals that others often caution her to be mindful of physical boundaries during interviews.
Cynthia Erivo and Barrymore talked about their mutual love for physical touch on 'The Drew Barrymore Show'.
Drew Barrymore has been cautioned about her interview approach, which is known for being overly friendly and tactile.
Drew Barrymore and Cynthia Erivo discussed their shared love for physical touch on "The Drew Barrymore Show" during a recent episode. The 49-year-old "Never Been Kissed" star asked Erivo about her PDA-filled interviews with Ariana Grande, and the two women bonded over their shared enthusiasm for physical touch.
Erivo told Barrymore, "Is it true that she is as touchy? I’m so touchy! People have to warn me. They’re like, ‘Back off a little bit.’ I’m like, ‘Why?’"
"Yes, we're always connected," the Tony Award winner said. "I'm the welcoming Capricorn who's like, 'I love you. You can touch.'"
Erivo revealed that she is accustomed to being physically affectionate with the 31-year-old pop star. The two have developed a close bond after spending a considerable amount of time together during the filming of "Wicked" and the musical movie's press tour.
""If we're not holding hands, we'll find each other somewhere," Erivo said of her exchanges with Grande."
Barrymore explained that having platonic physical interactions with others was important to her.
"Barrymore stated, "I am unattached, not involved in any romantic relationships, and I don't have that in my life." However, he added, "Despite my single status, I cannot imagine withholding from expressing affection through holding hands, hugging, and snuggling.""

Erivo, who frequently held hands with Barrymore during the interview, stated that he believes we sometimes fear physical connection.
She remarked that we tend to believe that physical connection is solely reserved for romantic relationships.
Barrymore emphatically agreed, stating, "I get far more timid when there is a romantic connection."
Grande and Erivo share a deep connection that allows them to communicate their emotions without speaking, through physical touch.
""Sometimes, we communicate without saying a word, like a simple squeeze of a hand or a pinch of the finger. It's how Harriet and I communicate," said the star."
""And I believe we should give more credit to the importance of physically communicating with our friends," she added."
Barrymore stated, "Yes, and I believe that if we could all feel more comfortable with physical touch, I would prefer that world." The audience responded with laughter and applause.
Martha Stewart was visibly upset during a recent interview on "The Drew Barrymore Show," causing headlines for Barrymore.
Barrymore started caressing the 83-year-old lifestyle expert's arm and back before Stewart jokingly shoved her backwards on the big couch, saying, "You're the wrong gender."
In the interview, Barrymore and Stewart, who have been friends for years, later hugged.
The "Charlie's Angels" actress announced she would give guests more space before the show's new season premiered.
Barrymore admitted to Entertainment Tonight in August that practicing physical distance, despite not being his strong suit, is something he will attempt.
I was alone in a studio during the pandemic, which was difficult for me. I prefer being around people.
Barrymore acknowledged that not everyone may enjoy it, but he apologized to those who didn't.
