Donald Trump is contacted by King Charles following an assassination attempt.
Trump previously met with the British monarch during his presidency.
On Saturday, after the shooting at his Pennsylvania rally, King Charles contacted Donald Trump.
On Sunday, the former president received a private letter from the king, according to Planet Chronicle Digital.
The letter, delivered by the UK embassy in Washington, was not commented upon by Buckingham Palace regarding its contents.
Trump and Charles have a history of meeting.
In 2005, when Charles and Queen Camilla visited the U.S., they first crossed paths. They met again at President George H.W. Bush's funeral in 2018.
In 2019, the two met to discuss climate change, and a scheduled 15-minute meeting lasted an hour and a half, according to Trump's comments at the time. He stated that Charles, a longtime environmentalist, "did most of the talking."
After their meeting, it was stated by Clarence House that Trump and Charles share a "good working relationship."
On Sunday, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer wrote to Trump, condemning the violence and expressing condolences for the victims and their families. He also wished a quick recovery for the former president and those injured.
On Sunday, Trump made numerous calls to friends and officials, including Ohio Pastor Darrell Scott, who reported that Trump was in high spirits during their morning conversation.
""He was great, as usual. He tried to downplay it by asking how I was doing," Scott said."
On Saturday evening, while giving a speech at a rally before the upcoming presidential election, Trump was hit by a bullet.
The former president was not seriously injured despite appearing to have blood on his face in photos, as an expert told Planet Chronicle Digital that if he hadn't turned his head at the right time, the bullet could have been fatal.
At the rally, Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old gunman, was killed on the scene. Corey Comperatore, a spectator, was also killed, and two more people were injured but are currently in stable condition.
After being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, King Charles has been concentrating on resuming his usual routine.
After taking a break from his royal duties to recuperate, Charles is back in full force. Last month, he gave his first public speech after his return to mark the 80th anniversary of the D-Day Landings.
In a video on the royal website, he spoke to a crowd of veterans and politicians, expressing his gratitude to the wartime generation for their courage, resilience, and solidarity.
Along with several other members of the royal family, including Kate Middleton, who is also battling cancer, he went on to appear at the Trooping the Colour ceremony.
The States Assembly is holding a special session today with Camilla and him present in the Channel Islands.
