Dolly Parton's Dallas Cowboys cheerleader costume attracted her husband's attention: "It's a little too revealing."
Since 1966, Parton has been married to her husband, Carl Thomas Dean.
Dolly Parton made a grand entrance at the Dallas Cowboys halftime show by wearing the team's cheerleader outfit, but then quickly boarded a private plane and flew straight home after her performance.
Her distinctive outfit sparked a massive response online; individuals were astonished that Parton, at 77 years old, was wearing tight shorts and a small bra top. She included a sequined, though transparent, bodysuit in her attire for additional coverage.
According to Parton, she did it to be funny and thought it would be cute to do it since she was surrounded by Dallas cheerleaders. Everyone loves them, including her husband, Carl Thomas Dean.
I contemplated whether I could successfully accomplish the task and thought it would be a cool thing to do. I also considered the possibility of people excusing me if it didn't work out or thinking I was an older woman making a mistake. Alternatively, I thought it could simply be a fun thing to do.
"It exceeded my expectations. I simply wanted to mimic the cheerleaders' outfits. What's the harm? I'm already there!"
She was thrilled to death that it received so much press, although she wasn't expecting it, she was pleased. However, Dean, whom she's been married to since 1966, had a different reaction.
"The "9 to 5" singer revealed that she wore the outfit for her husband, who had seen it and requested it. She had fittings before the performance and would often argue with him about the length of the outfit."
In a separate interview with People Magazine, she shared a little quip she made to her husband after he inquired about the length of her outfit, asking, "Jealous?"
"He was just joking," Parton explained. "I believe he thought, since everyone is making a big fuss about it, maybe you shouldn't be flashing your butt at that age. However, he found it amusing as well."
