Diddy allegations prompt Jay-Z to send scathing memo.
Diddy Faces 15 Years to Life in Prison for Sex Trafficking
In 2000, Jay-Z and Sean "Diddy" Combs were accused of raping a minor at an MTV VMAs after-party, as per documents obtained by Planet Chronicle Digital.
An anonymous accuser filed a lawsuit against Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, on Sunday in New York, alleging that he "raped" her while Combs and "Celebrity B" were present. The lawsuit was originally filed in October.
The lawsuit initially claimed that Combs raped a minor with the assistance of "Celebrity A" and "Celebrity B." In the refiled lawsuit, Carter was identified as "Celebrity A."
Jay-Z accused lawyer Tony Buzzbee of blackmail in a statement made through his Roc Nation banner, while denying the allegations.
Jay-Z stated on Roc Nation's X account that his lawyer received a blackmail attempt, known as a demand letter, from a lawyer named Tony Buzbee. The nature of the allegations and the public scrutiny made Jay-Z want to settle.
"I will not give you one red penny, as it had the opposite effect and made me want to expose you as a fraud in a very public manner!"
Jay-Z urged, 'These allegations are so heinous that I urge you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one. Whoever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away. The alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case.'
"These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree? These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case." — Jay-Z
The lawsuit alleges that Combs and Carter took turns assaulting the minor, while many others were present at the afterparty but did not intervene.
A 13-year-old girl was dropped off at Radio City Music Hall by a friend to attend the MTV Video Music Awards in 2000. She attempted to gain entry to the venue by approaching limousine drivers waiting outside the celebrity-filled event.
"The lawsuit stated that one of the limousine drivers she spoke to said he worked for Diddy and told her that Combs preferred younger girls. He also said she fit what Diddy was looking for, but did not allow her into the Awards, but invited her to an afterparty."
Upon arrival at the party, the 13-year-old recognized many celebrities but was not given a copy of the non-disclosure agreement.
At the time, Combs would have been 30 years old. He allegedly tried to make the girl perform oral sex on him. However, she hit him in the neck, causing him to stop.
Jay-Z's representatives did not promptly respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's inquiry for comment.
