Despite living apart, Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman maintain a successful marriage.
Despite their split over a decade ago, Rhea Perlman and Danny DeVito remain close friends.
Despite not sharing the same living space, Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman remain a cohesive family.
In a recent interview with Planet Chronicle Digital, DeVito discussed his current relationship with his estranged wife, over a decade after their separation. Despite still being legally married, they reside separately.
"Danny stated, "We're doing great as we share our new granddaughter and see each other frequently.""
In 1982, Rhea and Danny got married and have three children: Lucy, Grace, and Jake. They are also proud grandparents to their grandchild, Sinclair Lucille DeVito, who celebrated her first birthday on March 17.
"Yesterday was Lucy's birthday. We were together for the birthday party and had a family party. As DeVito continued, "We're a tight family.""
Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman are 'together in a lot of ways', according to DeVito.
DeVito shared with Planet Chronicle Digital how he and Rhea have sustained their relationship-turned-friendship for many years.
"Rhea and I have been together since 1970. We've grown together over the years, and it feels like we can really understand each other's emotions."
We engage in daily conversations, involving a lot of talking and doing things together. Our family consists of three beautiful children and a one-year-old granddaughter, with another on the way. As a result, our family is expanding.
Perlman and his family went on a vacation with DeVito for a week.
"He explained that being together as a family is important, even if they no longer live together."
In 2020, Rhea appeared on "Watch What Happens Live" and stated that she is "not getting divorced," followed by the question: "What for?"
DeVito and Perlman have both collaborated professionally with their children and grandchildren, with Rhea playing Danny's on-screen girlfriend in "Taxi" in 1978 and the couple starring in "Matilda" in 1996.
DeVito, the "Always Sunny in Philadelphia" star, cherishes those memories and is proud of the creation he and Perlman accomplished beyond their "charming group of children." Currently, DeVito is relishing his role as a grandfather and shared with Planet Chronicle Digital, "It's unparalleled. It's beyond anything."
"Being a dad and having kids are two things I love. Raising them was a joyful experience, despite the occasional mess. I visit their house often, but I try not to be intrusive."
Danny shared how he enjoys the small moments he spends with his granddaughter, even though it's a different role than being a parent.
"He said, "You get to hold their hands, pull their hair, take their glasses, and squeeze their feet. When you're done, give them back to their parents, and you'll feel great.""
Lucy, the daughter of Danny and Rhea, is currently pregnant. DeVito stated that his children have witnessed their parents' actions and therefore know how to parent effectively.
"Danny stated that his children understand the most crucial thing in the world at the moment, which is the newborn baby, and everything else is insignificant, like it's just gravy."
"Poolman," starring Chris Pine and Annette Bening, is Danny's latest film that debuts in theaters on May 10. The film follows Darren Barrenman (Chris Pine) as he protects the natives of Los Angeles from land developers and politicians while managing a pool at an apartment complex.
Pine's directorial debut features DeVito as the father-like figure and friend of Pine's character, Jack. To excel in the role, DeVito drew inspiration from his own early filmmaking experiences.

"DeVito stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that with each movie he makes, he learns as he goes along. He believes that Jack's character in the current film represents this growth, and he is grateful for Annette Bening's presence because of her nurturing and caring nature towards Jack. He cherishes the family experience he has had throughout the film."
Jack will always get back up with something new, just like Chris [Pine], according to DeVito.
Danny DeVito recently narrated "Matilda" live in concert at the State Theatre in New Jersey, stating, "This is a big man," referring to his role as Mr. Wormwood in the movie.
In 1996, the film showcased Mara Wilson as Matilda Wormwood, who possessed telekinesis. DeVito played Matilda's father, Harry Wormwood, while Rhea portrayed Matilda's mother, Zinnia Wormwood. The movie was later turned into a musical in 2022.
One of DeVito's fondest memories of directing and starring in "Matilda" is selecting Mara to play the lead.
""I first saw Mara in 'Mrs. Doubtfire.' She was small, and when she entered the room, I knew she was Matilda," he said."
DeVito stated, "The memories of filming and working with children were incredible. My son was 8 or 9, and my daughters were 10 and 12, who visited the set and spent time with the kids. It was truly amazing."
Despite being renowned, the actor continues to struggle with perfecting the sensation of remaining grounded.
"He shared with Planet Chronicle Digital that he is constantly working on it, which he enjoys. He believes that many individuals, including artists, actors, directors, businesspeople, and scientists, are always searching for what's next."
Going to work is something I love because of my curiosity and enthusiasm.
