'Dancing with the Stars' pro reflects on leaving Hollywood for Utah during peak fame.
For 10 seasons, Lindsay Arnold was a contestant on the dancing competition show.
Nearly three years have passed since "Dancing with the Stars" pro Lindsay Arnold left the show, and she has no regrets about her decision.
The dancer who starred in the dance competition series for 10 seasons and gained immense fame and success, revealed in a new interview why she decided to leave the show.
"My priorities and where I wanted to spend my time have shifted," she told People magazine. "My mindset has changed. Time seems to go by so much faster when you have kids, and I know that this time is incredibly precious and something that you can never get back."
"I wanted to feel a sense of accomplishment in the show knowing that, "If we have kids and I don't come back, do I feel fulfilled with what I hope to achieve?" I felt like I was at that point. We were probably past the readiness stage. We were like, "We really want this now," and I'm glad we waited for that time because it felt so right for us.""
Arnold, who has two daughters, Sage, 4, and June, almost 2, with husband Samuel Cusick, stated that the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles never attracted her.
"She admitted that she never truly loved or desired to reside in Hollywood, despite appreciating everything it provided for her career and personal life. However, she was always the professional who would return to Utah to be with her family during breaks. This is where she knows she wants to raise her family."
""Although I never felt drawn to city life, I am grateful for my upbringing in Utah because it has shaped my current life," she stated."
From workout tutorials to lifestyle vlogs, Arnold continues to gain traction on social media these days.
"I didn't have a grand plan when I left 'Dancing with the Stars.' I just wanted to do things that were true to me, even though it was scary because I didn't know how they would be received," she said of becoming an influencer.
"Initially, my social media following consisted of individuals who only watched and followed me due to my participation in 'Dancing with the Stars.' This was concerning as I wondered if they would turn against me if I announced that I was stepping away from the show to become a mother. However, it has been an amazing experience as I have grown my career and community by simply being authentic and sharing my journey."
Although Arnold expressed that she still misses the program, she is content with her choice to depart.
"The show holds a special place in my heart because of the close-knit community and family it fosters. As soon as my sister joins, she's welcomed with open arms and treated like a member of the family."
"Being good at your job and being a mom both require a full-time commitment, which can be challenging."
"I'm grateful to say that I haven't regretted my decisions one step of the way," she added.
