Cheryl Hines Supports RFK Jr.'s MAHA Initiative During Trump Inauguration
Hines has been present at various events at Mar-a-Lago since Trump appointed Kennedy as the head of HHS.
Cheryl Hines, a Hollywood actress, is accepting her new role in the MAGA world as her husband, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., prepares to join the incoming Trump administration.
On Monday, the 59-year-old "Curb Your Enthusiasm" star is expected to attend Trump's inauguration ceremony in Washington, D.C., along with Kennedy, who President-elect Trump nominated to serve as Health and Human Services Secretary.
The actress will walk the red carpet at the MAHA Inaugural Ball, which marks the start of Trump's second term and Kennedy's "Make America Healthy Again" movement, as confirmed by a representative for Hines.
Over the past few months, Hines has been a key member of Trump's inner circle, endorsing the president-elect after suspending his own presidential campaign and becoming one of his most prominent surrogates.
During the time before the inauguration, the two-time Emmy Award nominee attended various events at Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, alongside her spouse.
On election night, Hines and Kennedy were present at Trump's watch party and cheered as he won the presidency over Harris.
Marla Maples, Trump's second wife, posted pictures from the celebration, including a photo of her with Hines and Kennedy. The three of them smiled as they posed for a photo inside Mar-a-Lago's ballroom.
"Nov 5th, we came together as friends with a common goal to bring our country back to its founding values and spread joy and light among us, while celebrating our shared vision of unity."
Maples stated that Trump and his family were accompanied by "friends and voices of change," including Elon Musk, Jon Voight, Kennedy, and Hines. The former model added that Kennedy's son Finn, 26, was also present.
Maples wrote, "We invite all to open their hearts and minds to see that by coming together, we can let go of fear and live in the freedom that is every child of God's birthright. We continue to pray for those who may have been misled and didn't fully grasp our intentions."
"Let us bring in Joy as we continue to pray for our country and the world."
On November 14th, Trump declared on X, previously Twitter, that he had appointed Kennedy to head the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Hines attended the America First Policy Institute gala at Mar-a-Lago to celebrate her husband's nomination with other Trump allies and supporters that night.
According to Page Six, the "I Can See Your Voice" judge was reportedly "happy and relaxed" and "getting along with the MAGA community."
"Everyone, including Donald Trump, was being talked to by Cheryl," the insider stated.
The outlet reported that other guests at the event included Trump's nominee for director of national intelligence, former Democratic representative Tulsi Gabbard; Donald Trump Jr.; Trump Jr.'s fiancée at the time, Kimberly Guilfoyle; and Kennedy's daughter-in-law and former campaign manager, Amaryllis Fox Kennedy.
Kennedy's nomination to Trump's Cabinet awaits confirmation by the U.S. Senate.
Although Hines did not post photos of her visits to Mar-a-Lago on her personal social media pages, she expressed her support for the MAHA movement on her Instagram story in late November.
Kennedy was featured in a playful video shared by Hines while promoting her eco-friendly self-care company, Hines+Young, which she founded with her daughter, Catherine Young.
In the video, Hines partially concealed Kennedy's nudity while showering in the background.
The actress shared a photo of Hines+Young products on her Instagram account, including a candle with a "MAHA" emblazoned lid, and tagged the company's page while using the "MAHA" hashtag.
In a December interview with TMZ, Hines discussed her future plans as Kennedy prepares for the confirmation process and begins his next political chapter.
When queried about her excitement regarding relocating to Washington, D.C., Hines chuckled and replied, "I'll take it one day at a time."
The actress acknowledged that the weather in Washington D.C. would differ from that in Los Angeles. Additionally, she stated to TMZ that she would continue to focus on her acting career.
"She added, "I will pay attention to my career while also supporting my husband.""
In November, a photo of Kennedy sharing a McDonald's meal with Trump, Trump Jr., Musk, and Speaker Mike Johnson aboard Trump Force One went viral on X. Hines was also questioned about this image.
A photo of Kennedy, a vocal opponent of processed foods, was captured with him in front of McDonald's fries and a Coca-Cola bottle, holding a burger box.
Tomorrow marks the beginning of 'Make America Healthy Again,' as per Trump Jr.'s caption on the photo.
The group was returning from a trip to New York City, where they attended UFC 309 at Madison Square Garden, the location of Trump's historic campaign rally in October.
Hines stated to TMZ that there is no possibility that Trump, who is known for his love of fast food, would impact her husband's healthy eating habits.
""Bobby is a very strong-willed and strong-minded person," she said."
Kennedy, who has previously criticized Trump's diet as "really bad," likely couldn't have refused to eat the meal.
"I don't think he had a choice," she admitted.
Some in Hines' Hollywood circle were surprised and dismayed by her acceptance into Trump world, particularly after a source told People magazine in November that she was considering divorcing Kennedy following reports of his alleged affair with a political journalist. Kennedy has denied these claims.
"The insider stated that Cheryl was furious upon hearing reports that her husband had any involvement with the political reporter. Those close to her in LA believe that if she remains with Bobby now that Trump has won the election, she will gain notoriety for being in the inner circle."
Some may view Hines as a "betrayer."
According to another source, Hines appeared to be a "supportive wife" while attending events at Mar-a-Lago with Kennedy.
"According to an insider, People reported that it's clear she doesn't align with either the right or left political spectrum, and her political views are aligned with RFK Jr."
Kennedy had previously stated that Hines was initially against his endorsement of Trump.
He stated that she is a lifelong Democrat and the thought of him supporting Donald Trump as president is something she never imagined or wanted in her life. This is causing her a lot of discomfort.
"I am grateful to her."
Cheryl Hines, star of 'Curb Your Enthusiam,' discusses conflicts with her husband Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and their approach to handling disagreements.
Kennedy declared his intention to run for the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination in April 2023. Later in October 2023, he announced that he was abandoning his bid and would instead run as an independent candidate.
Though she rarely speaks out against her husband's politics, Hines distanced herself from controversial remarks he made in January 2023 prior to launching his campaign.
A longtime anti-vaccine activist, Kennedy, caused controversy when he compared the U.S. government's efforts to vaccinate Americans against COVID-19 to Nazi Germany in a speech.
At the time, Hines responded to her husband's comments in a post she shared on X.
"While Hines and her husband share love, they have differing opinions on current issues."
The next day, Hines wrote, "My husband's reference to Anne Frank at a mandate rally in D.C. was unacceptable and disrespectful. The Holocaust's atrocities should never be compared to anyone or anything. His views do not represent my own."
Kennedy later admitted to suggesting a fake separation after facing backlash. He explained that it was a challenging period for them, and he was concerned that his remarks were harming Hines' personal and professional life.
Kennedy admitted to drafting a news release about the split, but the release was never sent, and Hines stated in a separate interview with The New York Times that she never viewed Kennedy's proposal as a viable option.
On January 16th, the "Skinny Confidential Him & Her" podcast featured an episode with Hines as a guest. During the conversation with Lauryn Evarts Bosstick and Michael Bosstick, Hines discussed her past year's experience.
As a person, I've experienced a lot of emotional moments," she stated. "You're referring to friends who don't want to discuss certain topics, even if they don't want to have a conversation about it.
Some people I don't talk to as much have made it difficult.
"You must take a step back and question, 'What are these friendships? What you hope for is a friend who remains loyal regardless of circumstances. I have those friends. Then, if this separation is causing tension between you and your friend, you may wonder if the friendship was genuine to begin with. However, it's challenging because it all happens at once."
Some of Hines' Hollywood friends are hesitant to share their opinions if they deviate from the norm.
In Los Angeles, people are very passionate about their political beliefs, but many have come up to me privately and said, 'I love what your husband is doing,' even though they don't want to say it out loud. That's understandable.
"It's disheartening that individuals can't simply engage in dialogue."
During significant events in the past year, including Trump's nomination of Kennedy for his Cabinet, Hines admitted that she struggled to find her footing.
Bobby has been working tirelessly on critical issues for a long time, and it would be crucial for him to have a voice in the administration. However, politics is often characterized by negativity, impatience, and anger.
"For every ten people who are kind and supportive to Bobby and me, there are ten people who are not."
In a March 2023 interview with Planet Chronicle Digital, Hines discussed how she and Kennedy handle disagreements on political issues during his presidential campaign.
"Politics has taught me that it's okay not to agree with someone on everything," she stated.
"We've mastered the art of communicating effectively. Express ourselves openly. Listen attentively. Occasionally, we may agree to disagree or request clarification, or politely suggest a different phrasing.
"Communication and keeping an open mind and heart are key."
At the time, Hines stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that she found certain aspects of Kennedy's campaign to be challenging.
"I've never been a political figure, but I thought I would never have anything to do with politics. Now, I'm getting used to this new world and its cycles, which are challenging because I've learned that there's a rhythm to it that I don't feel in other aspects of my life. However, I'm finding it workable."
Kennedy's campaign received support from Hines.
"She said she loves him and hopes to be a good friend to him. The downtime and time away from the campaign are important for staying grounded and connecting with each other."
In August, Kennedy declared that he was abandoning his presidential campaign and supporting Trump.
Cheryl Hines, star of "Curb Your Enthusiasm," discusses her support for husband Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during his political campaign.
At the time, Hines expressed support for her husband and his campaign staff on X.
Robert Kennedy Jr.'s presidency has been suspended, and I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all those who have worked diligently and affectionately on his campaign.
Despite facing numerous obstacles, including lawsuits and roadblocks, they managed to gather over a million signatures and secure ballot access nationwide, making Bobby a viable candidate for the public to vote for.
"I deeply respect Bobby's decision to run on the principle of unity. Over the past year and a half, I have met some remarkable individuals from all political affiliations, including Democrats, Republicans, and Independents. In my experience, the majority of people from all parties are genuinely good people who are committed to the well-being of our country and one another. This journey has been eye-opening, transformative, and endearing."
Kennedy stated to TMZ that his wife supported his choice, even though she did not concur with it.
"He said that this was the opposite of what she would want to do. She agreed to it because she loves him and wanted to support him, but it was never something she encouraged, he added."
