Carrie Underwood should avoid this one thing, according to 'American Idol' judge Lionel Richie.
An Emmy Award nomination has been received for Lionel Richie's documentary titled "The Greatest Night in Pop."
Lionel Richie offers some advice to Carrie Underwood before she replaces Katy Perry on the "American Idol" judging panel.
During a Grammy Museum event, when asked by Planet Chronicle Digital how he thought Underwood would differ from Perry as a judge, Richie responded, "Everyone is different than Katy."
Richie advised Underwood not to attempt to emulate Perry as everyone contributes uniquely to the panel.
"Richie stated to Planet Chronicle Digital during the Grammy Museum's screening of "The Greatest Night in Pop" that there is only one Katy."
"I want Carrie to discover her true identity and join us, as we are thrilled to have her on board because we need someone who can bring their unique perspective to the table."
In 2005, Underwood emerged victorious in the fourth season of the widely acclaimed singing competition series "American Idol."
In 2018, she narrated the opening sequence, and in 2019 she was a guest adviser.

Richie said, "Carrie is the perfect fit for our show. She understands this better than anyone because she started here. We welcome her with open arms."
Richie remarked, "She knows exactly what this navigation is all about and will be able to mentor all the way through and even to the point of the winners."

Richie shared with Planet Chronicle Digital his emotions about "The Greatest Night in Pop" being nominated for an Emmy.
The film portrays the monumental task of putting together the world's greatest supergroup in a time without cell phones and email.
The group of artists, consisting of the song's co-writers and two of the most influential musicians of the 20th century, Richie and Michael Jackson, came from diverse backgrounds but collaborated to record "We Are the World" on January 28, 1985.
"The Greatest Night in Pop" has been nominated for an outstanding documentary or nonfiction special, and Richie is ecstatic about the project's success.
Richie expressed his happiness to Planet Chronicle Digital about being able to reveal what happened behind the scenes.
