Brandi Glanville is investing all of her money in search of answers to the mystery illness that has left her disfigured.
Glanville claims to have spent $70K in an attempt to determine the cause of her facial issues.
Brandi Glanville may have an expensive house guest.
Glanville has admitted to spending a significant amount of money to diagnose a "parasite" living in her face, just days after posting a photo of her disfigured face on social media.
She revealed to Entertainment Tonight that she has been on medication all year, doesn't socialize or go out, and has been spending all her money trying to figure out what's wrong with her.
"The reality star shared that she had visited every doctor possible and received IV antibiotics at her home for six weeks, totaling $12,000. However, once she stopped the treatment, her symptoms returned. She also mentioned that she spent $10,000 on lab work, which included running every test available."
Glanville has spent over $70,000 on tests and treatments, visiting an immunologist, an infectious disease doctor, a rheumatologist, and an ENT, all of whom are baffled by her condition.
Glanville's face swelled and she was unable to speak. Then, she noticed that her skin started sinking in. She says the "parasite" is impacted by touch and can jump from one side of her face to the other.
Following her recent social media post, fans were eager to know what had happened. In response to their curiosity, she wrote, "I wish I knew I've been in and out of the hospital this past year. I spent almost every dollar I have trying to figure it out. Some doctors say I have a parasite that jumps around my face. Some say it's stress-induced edema. I personally say it's Bravo."
She confessed that her depression was due to her appearance, and posted a photo without makeup several months ago.
Glanville suspects that the source of the parasite may have originated in Morocco, where she filmed a season of "The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip" that ultimately hindered her future prospects. Despite the program never being aired, Glanville's co-star, Caroline Manzo, accused her of sexual assault in a lawsuit she filed against Bravo.
Glanville revealed to ET that six months after returning from Morocco, she developed the speaking thing and swelling up thing. This happened in July, and they are still trying to figure it out. She explained that during the trip, she ate food, including meat that had been left out for hours.
Glanville acknowledged that she may need surgery at some point, but she is not holding her breath. "I'm not getting my hopes up anymore," she said. "Even if it's like a tumor, I want it removed. I need an answer. That would be amazing," she admitted.
