Billy Baldwin and wife Chynna Phillips have been living separately during their 30-year marriage, which has been described as a "roller coaster."
In 1995, Phillips and Baldwin became husband and wife and have three children together.
Billy Baldwin's wife, Chyna Phillips, shared details about their unique living arrangements.
In a video on her faith-based YouTube channel "California Preachin," Phillips, 56, admitted to living in a different home from Baldwin, 61.
""Billy and I have a new arrangement that's working great for me, but I'm not sure if it's working for him. It's completely unstructured, and I'm really happy with it," she said."
I've discovered a method to navigate the ups and downs of marriage without physically leaving it.
The singer questioned the Bible's requirement for her to live with her husband under the same roof 24/7.
Baldwin is daily given a list of gestures by Phillips.
"I must treat him with kindness, gentleness, and obedience, submitting to his commands."
She stated, "Although I understand everything, I will submit when I'm present."
Phillips presented the plan to her husband as a "test run," insisting that she would reside in Santa Barbara while Baldwin lived in Beverly Hills, and they would "flip-flop."
She proposed that their time together could involve "dates," leisure activities, and family time in addition to their existing activities.
"We have double dates, therapy, dinner with the children, and either go to the beach or the museum. We just get an ice cream."
Phillips stated that they will set aside time for sex and added, "We have sleepovers and other activities together a few days a week, but we don't feel obligated to be with each other all the time, so I'm excited to give this a try."
Although Phillips is content with the new plan and living arrangements, her husband is less forthcoming about his feelings.
In the video, her husband joined her on a virtual call later.
"Our love is intense, we relish being together, we treasure our marriage, and we never want to be apart. However, we need some space because we have an allergy to each other, and it's okay. Many couples likely experience this issue."
In 1995, Phillips and Baldwin became husband and wife and have three adult children together, including daughters Jameson, 24, Brooke, 19, and son Vance, 22.
The actor responded to his wife's social media post.
"Chynna's California Preachin posts are always causing trouble!" he exclaimed with a laughing emoji.
"We have an empty nest for the first time in decades, so I do things and hope Chynna will join me. If she doesn't want to, that's cool. Chynna does her thing, and if I don't want to join you, that's cool too. We do our thing together most of the time." Baldwin concluded, "34 years later, we still drive each other crazy and are deeply in love. You should give it a try. Call me tonight, Mama."
This year, Phillips stated that she was cautious around her husband to avoid upsetting him.
"Billy and I have been engaged in some conflict over the past few days," Phillips confessed in April.
We've been bickering again, which is frustrating because just when we're making progress and things are improving, we start arguing easily.
Billy is my life partner, the one I want to have the healthiest relationship with, and the person I want to talk to when I'm feeling vulnerable or upset, according to Phillips.
"I don't always do what I want because I'm afraid of rocking the boat, putting him in a bad mood, or walking on eggshells."
The five-time Grammy Award nominee revealed that she sometimes restrains herself from sharing her emotions with Baldwin because she fears causing him depression or anxiety.
"The fear of triggering him is preventing me from opening up to him, which is hindering our true intimacy. Despite my efforts to guard his feelings, I am causing more trouble in our marriage by doing so."
John and Michelle Phillips' daughter, Phillips, is also the half-sister of Mackenzie and Bijou Phillips. Along with sisters Carnie and Wendy Wilson, she forms the pop music trio Wilson Phillips.
Alec Baldwin, who is the brother of Stephen and Daniel Baldwin, is the same actor who gained notoriety for the fatal shooting on the set of "Rust."
