Billie Eilish was hit in the face by an object while performing on tour.
On Monday night, the Kia Forum in Los Angeles will host Eilish's next tour stop.
Billie Eilish's "Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour" does not encourage fans to throw objects at her, despite its name.
On Friday, the 22-year-old pop star performed the emotional Grammy and Academy Award-winning ballad, "What Was I Made For?" from last year's blockbuster "Barbie" movie, stopping in Glendale, Arizona.
She was hit directly in the face with an object, causing things to take a turn.
A video posted on social media depicted Eilish being struck with what looked like a handmade fan necklace.
Eilish winced upon its impact, turning her head to show palpable disappointment. Fans booed before Eilish re-started, picking up the necklace shortly after and tossing it aside with disgust.
Eilish's representative did not promptly respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's inquiry for comment.
In the past two years, fans have repeatedly displayed thoughtless decision-making by throwing objects at performers, including phones, bracelets, and bottles. Kelsea Ballerini, Harry Styles, and Bebe Rexha have all been hit by objects while singing on stage. Rexha was hospitalized and required stitches after a fan threw a phone at her face in the summer of 2023.
In June 2023, Eilish told The Hollywood Reporter that the trend of being hit onstage with things was not new to her. "I’ve been getting hit onstage with things for like, literally, six years," Eilish said. "People just get excited and it can be dangerous."
""When you're up there, it blows, but you know it's out of love and they're just trying to give you something," she said, adding that she had mixed feelings about it."
Eilish will perform at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, where Styles had a mishap in 2022.
