Author: Meghan Markle's Manipulation of Prince Harry Will Never Win Her Over the UK
The Duchess of Sussex is quietly preparing to debut her Netflix series and lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.
The royal family's initial admiration for Meghan Markle has faded.
Meghan is preparing to make a grand return to public life after stepping back as a senior royal with her husband, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, in 2020 and relocating to California.
Reports suggest that the mother of two will reveal her Netflix series and lifestyle brand in 2025. However, following the couple's complaints and the 43-year-old's accusation of bullying by palace courtiers, one royal expert predicts that it is unlikely Meghan will ever be welcomed back with open arms in the UK.
Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine and author of "My Mother and I," stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that she believes Meghan will never regain the support of the U.K. public.
"Seward maintained that things change rapidly, but he couldn't see it happening in his current generation. He believed that Meghan might be able to win over a younger generation, as he thought she would appeal more to younger people than older ones."
"Seward stated that although everyone agrees that Meghan is beautiful and fashionable, it does not necessarily mean that they like her. He added that he believes that people in the U.K. are not fond of her at the moment."
Since quitting royal duties, the Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry have been estranged from the family due to unbearable intrusions and racist attitudes from the British press.
The Duke of Sussex, after relocating to California, shared his experiences with Oprah Winfrey in a televised interview that reached a global audience of nearly 50 million people. Additionally, he filmed a Netflix docuseries and authored a bestselling memoir titled "Spare," which delved into the challenges of his royal life.
Before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex interviewed Winfrey, The Times of London published a report accusing Meghan of driving out two personal assistants and treating staff poorly during her time at Kensington Palace.
At the time, Meghan's lawyers denied the allegations, while a spokesperson for the duchess characterized the claims as the "latest attack on her character."
Their popularity declined rapidly due to the public scrutiny of their royal life and the accusations against them.
"Seward stated that in the U.K., Meghan is not well-liked, particularly because people view her as the one who took Harry away from his family and abandoned her own. Although not all of this is true, her father's death and her influence on Harry's decision to abandon his family have contributed to this perception. Harry did not have to write a negative autobiography about his family."
Seward stated that people have a very low opinion of the Sussexes, but there is still a fondness for Harry. Many believe that he is being manipulated by his wife, although this is not certain.
"Currently, individuals are not interested in learning about their successes, but they are fascinated by their downfall. They are not interested in reading about their achievements, but rather their failures. We never hear about their accomplishments because we only hear about their misdeeds."
Seward remarked, "People are unpredictable, and everything could shift suddenly."
"I think people really have a very, very low opinion of the Sussexes… I think there is a big fondness for Harry still. I think people feel that he’s totally manipulated by his wife, which we don’t know, but I think people feel that." — Ingrid Seward, author of "My Mother and I"
Buckingham Palace announced in June 2023 that it had investigated how its staff handled allegations of bullying.
Palace officials stated that the independent review's details were not being released to maintain the confidentiality of those involved. After the review, officials announced that the palace's human resources policy had been updated, but they declined to disclose the specific changes.
The British press had previously scrutinized Meghan.
Harry, 40, started dating Meghan, the "Suits" star, who faced criticism from U.K. tabloids for various reasons, including eating avocados and wearing dark nail polish. However, it was noted that Meghan is not the first royal to experience negative media coverage.
The royal family and the press have a long-standing and frequently poisonous relationship.
Princess Diana, Harry's mother, was constantly photographed by paparazzi due to her public status. When she and Prince Charles admitted their marriage was troubled, her personal life became public knowledge.
In 1997, Diana died in a Paris car crash at the age of 36 while being chased by photographers. Harry later expressed concern that history might repeat itself.
The father of two stated, "I lost my mother, and now I see my wife being affected by the same powerful forces."
Kate Middleton was scrutinized for years before becoming the Princess of Wales, being accused of being lazy for not having a full-time job and dubbed "Waity Katy," for seemingly waiting for Prince William to propose. Since then, she has been praised for representing the future of the British monarchy.
The Sussexes' efforts to control their narrative were met with both sympathy and contempt as they launched a media blitz of tell-alls. Many have wondered if Meghan can win over the public again by creating a successful brand in the States.
Meghan Markle is set to launch a Netflix show focused on cooking, gardening, and entertaining in early 2025, in addition to unveiling her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard. Some staff members from Archewell, the foundation she and Harry founded, are reportedly involved in the project.
An industry insider revealed to the outlet that Meghan has been working on her entrepreneurial efforts quietly in the background.

"The source stated that Meghan's Netflix project and brand will be released simultaneously in the New Year."
No matter what they do, the couple will face criticism, according to a source who is familiar with them.
"Meghan is often accused of being controlling and seeking attention when she's with her husband."
According to Planet Chronicle Digital, Kinsey Schofield, the host of the "To Di For Daily" podcast, asserted that it will require more than a celebrity-endorsed product to improve her public perception.
"Schofield stated that no one is viewing American Riviera Orchard as a potential success, as the situation with these two is chaotic. However, Crisis Management Meg is a vital step in Meghan Markle's attempt to become independent. To succeed in personality-driven television, an authentic personality is necessary, which Markle may lack."
"What is the number of times we will hear the phrases "Meghan Markle rebrand" or "Meghan Markle comeback"? Schofield posited. "The peak of Meghan was on May 19, 2018, when she married Prince Harry. However, there was no comeback after March 7, 2021, when her interview with Oprah Winfrey aired.""
Schofield stated that Meghan's popularity will never reach its previous heights and it is solely her fault.
