On Monday, a fire broke out in the area, intensified by dry terrain and Santa Ana winds. According to Cal Fire, six structures have been damaged and nine have been destroyed. Just 7% of the fire has been contained.
Many celebrities, including Dick Van Dyke, Jane Seymour, and Brooke Burke, shared their grief on social media after their community was devastated, with many people fleeing with their children and pets.
Dick Van Dyke
Van Dyke, a cherished legend, informed his followers that he and his wife Arlene Silver were compelled to depart from Malibu.
"We safely evacuated with our animals except for our cat Bobo, who escaped as we were leaving. We're praying for his safety and the survival of our community in Serra Retreat, which is being affected by terrible fires," Van Dyke wrote on his official Facebook page Wednesday.
The veteran actor later commented that he had reunited with his feline friend.
Van Dyke shared that Animal Control was called in to assist with the search for Bobo, who was found easily and unharmed upon returning home this morning.
On Thursday morning, Van Dyke narrated the harrowing evacuation process on the "Today" show.
"As the fire approached the hill, he said, 'You could see it coming over the hill.' He was attempting to crawl to the car, but he had exhausted himself and couldn't get up. Three neighbors came and carried him out, then returned and put out the fire in the guest house, saving him."
Mark Hamill
Due to the Franklin wildfire, Mark Hamill was unable to evacuate Malibu and had to alert fans on social media about being in lockdown.
The 73-year-old wrote, "Stay safe everyone! My elderly-recluse lifestyle allows me to remain indoors."
Brooke Burke
Burke, the former "Dancing with the Stars" champion and TV personality, and her family are safe after evacuating their Malibu home. She shared photos on Instagram, including one of herself standing beside a firefighter who appeared to be canvasing the area.

Let's continue to support each other, stay informed, and remain hopeful. Our community is strong, and together we'll see through these challenging times."
Seymour posted a video of the intense fire, stating that she and her family were forced to evacuate the region.

Mira Sorvino, the star of "Mighty Aphrodite," prayed for her community in Malibu after evacuating. In a message to X, she wrote, "All my Malibu friends and neighbors, I pray that you are safe. We evacuated in the middle of the night, with all our kids and pets accounted for! These are scary times!"
Sorvino and her spouse, actor Christopher Backus, have four offspring, two of whom are minors.
Cher
The New York Times first reported that Cher was forced to evacuate her Malibu home. A representative for the singer told Planet Chronicle Digital that the singer, 78, "has not returned home yet."
