Another music icon inspired Ringo Starr's country music album, which is considered a masterpiece by the Beatles legend.
The musician marked his 84th birthday with his annual Peace and Love event.
Ringo Starr has gone country after all these years.
At the annual peace and love birthday celebration for Ringo at Beverly Hills Garden Park, the Beatles legend disclosed the inspiration behind the genre shift.
Starr recounted to Planet Chronicle Digital that he met T Bone Burnett, the Grammy-winning country icon, when Olivia Harrison was reading poems for George. There were approximately 100 people present, including Burnett, and Starr bumped into him off and on since the '70s.
"He inquired, "What are you doing?" I replied, "I'm working on extended play albums, which have more tracks than a single but fewer than a record. I'm also encouraging people to write songs and add music to them.""
Starr stated that Burnett's song was "absolutely one of the most beautiful country songs I ever heard." As a result, Starr decided to create a country EP.
Ringo Starr said, "I thought let's make a real CD, so I'm back making a CD," after he spoke to Burnett about doing more tracks and revealed he actually had nine songs.
In a recent interview with Variety, Burnett expressed high admiration for Starr.
Ringo, being in a band with two of the greatest rock 'n' roll singers, was often overlooked as a singer, according to Burnett.
Ringo Starr, known for his great country music, was called Ringo because it's a cowboy name and he wanted to be a cowboy as a kid.
In those days, we all aspired to be Gene Autry. He requested me to compose a song for him, which I did in the style of Gene Autry. This sparked a songwriting frenzy for me, and I am still writing to this day.
"Ringo's third act calls for a serious album, and I want to create a classic Ringo Starr country record. We can make it happen."

Starr has previously dabbled in country music with his 1970 album "Beaucoups of Blues," which incorporated country and western influences.
Starr, who has been celebrating his birthday at Ringo's Annual Peace & Love Birthday Celebration for the past 16 years, turned 84 on Sunday.
Starr responded to the inquiry about the celebration and the lack of peace in the world by stating, "It takes time. Although I can only promote it, I lack the power to bring an end to it. However, there is progress being made."
"If we acquire one additional individual today compared to last year, we will be expanding. Moreover, we are gaining significantly more than one person, I assure you."
He stated that he was in good health, saying, "I'm fit as a fiddle," and shared that he had celebrated with a breakfast of croissants and coffee.
Nearly every day, he works out, as he told Planet Chronicle Digital.

Starr's life has been marked by a consistent focus on longevity. He has maintained a close friendship with Paul McCartney for over 62 years, having joined the band founded by McCartney, Lennon, and Harrison in 1962.
He described his bond with McCartney as that of friends, pals, and brothers.
Starr revealed to USA Today in May that she and Paul will have dinner together, and they are still friends. She also shared that she misses George and John, as she is an only child and suddenly had three brothers, which was wonderful.
"If he comes to LA, we will certainly do something. And when I get to England, we'll do something there. It's just what we do. We went to Paris together in March for Stella McCartney's clothing line, but really we went there for the lunch. But, no, really, we were hanging out. We went by train and were all sitting in the same carriage. We had a good time."
Starr and his All-Starr Band are currently touring across the country, with dates extending into the fall, in addition to the release of his new album.
