The Invictus Games, hosted by Prince Harry for the first time in a decade, will likely see Meghan Markle make an appearance despite royal experts predicting she may put on a brave face while joining him across the pond.

The Duke of Sussex's Paralympic-style sports tournament will be held in Birmingham, England, in July 2027, instead of Washington, D.C. Meanwhile, the upcoming Invictus Games, scheduled for February 2025, will take place in Vancouver and Whistler, Canada.

If the Duchess of Sussex attends the prince's event, it will be her first visit to the U.K. since Queen Elizabeth II passed away in 2022.

"According to Christopher Andersen, author of "The King," there is no possibility that Meghan will miss the Invictus Games. He believes that she will be present, albeit briefly, without her children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. However, Meghan and Harry's security concerns are legitimate, while the rest of the royal family and the British courts do not share this view."

"Andersen stated that the Sussexes are no longer considered working royals in the U.K., and therefore, they are not entitled to state-funded police protection. Harry has only one legal appeal left, which is a slim chance."

Royal expert Hilary Fordwich claims that it is unlikely that a possible appearance by the duchess will spark peace talks between the families anytime soon.

According to Fordwich, Prince William's summary of his feelings for Meghan Markle in "Spare" was documented by Harry before their physical fight at Kensington Palace in 2019.

"Fordwich stated that according to Harry, William referred to Meghan as "difficult," "rude," and "abrasive," traits that are not well-received by the British. The royals have not had any reason to alter their views on Meghan Markle."

According to an author, Meghan Markle has moved on from the royal family drama.

Harry has had a strained relationship with his family and has seen his father, King Charles III, infrequently since the couple moved to California in 2020. The couple cited unbearable intrusions and racist attitudes of the British press as the reasons for stepping back as senior royals.

Since his TV interviews, documentary, and memoir, the British prince has revealed the challenges in his relationship with his family.

"Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that the Games may be overshadowed by the royal rift as other royals are unlikely to attend. However, he believes that there may be more harmony by 2027, but he is not confident about it."

"Meghan has been unpopular in Britain for a long time, according to Fitzwilliams. The security issue may also play a significant role in determining the outcome, as Harry has been granted the opportunity to appeal against the decision to withdraw the automatic police protection he and his family once enjoyed as senior working royals."

"If he wins, they may both come," Fitzwilliams said. "However, their unpopularity in Britain has increased due to their monetization of their royal status and the harshness of their criticism of the royal family. Given their low poll ratings, Meghan may choose to stay away."

More than four years ago, Harry's legal battle over his security in the U.K. began. The 39-year-old claimed that he and his family were endangered when visiting his home country due to hostility towards him and his wife, 42. Harry highlighted the ruthless hounding by the U.K. news media that the couple had faced.

The lawyer argued that Harry had been treated fairly and was still given protection during some of his visits, citing a security detail that guarded him in June 2021 while he was pursued by photographers after attending an event with seriously ill children in west London.

In February, High Court Judge Peter Lane determined that the panel's decision allowing for "bespoke" security on an as-needed basis was not illegal, unreasonable, or unjustified.

The Royal and VIP Executive Committee, comprised of members from the royal family staff, the Metropolitan Police, and various government offices, made the panel decision.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex could easily travel to the U.K. if the royal family allowed it, as Andersen suggested.

Andersen pointed out that since the discussion centered on a single event rather than a comprehensive policy change, accommodations could be made. He suggested that the king could easily resolve the issue by ordering royal protection for Harry and his family or, if that was not possible, by having Harry and his family pay for it themselves.

"The affluent and influential family can undoubtedly cover the security expenses for Harry, Meghan, and their children when they visit. However, that is not the main concern during the ongoing conflict between the Windsor family members."

"Let's hope that by 2027, when Birmingham hosts Invictus, the two sides will have reconciled and come together. If they remain entrenched in their positions, there is no chance that the King, Prince William, Kate Middleton, or any of the royals will attend the Invictus Games, even though they are being held close to the royal family's home."

Harry traveled to London alone in May to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. It was reported that he did not encounter his father, who is 75 years old, during his visit.

A spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex stated that Charles, who had resumed his official duties following a three-month cancer hiatus, was too occupied to meet with his son.

The duke comprehends his father's commitments and priorities and hopes to meet him soon, as stated.

In February, Harry hurriedly traveled to London for a brief visit following his father's cancer diagnosis.

Harry, who recently traveled to London, shared on "Good Morning America" that he believed his father's ailment could strengthen his family's bond.

Helena Chard, a British broadcaster and photographer, stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that it is not too late for the American actress to win over the U.K. public and her in-laws.

"To repair her damaged reputation in the U.K., Meghan should visit the U.K. and accompany her husband at the Invictus Games 2027, as advised by Chard. The royal family will prioritize their safety and ensure a thorough security plan for the family."

"Meghan's busy life is in the U.S., and she has no attachment to the U.K. She has moved on from her short time in the U.K. and feels that people in the U.K. don't like her. She would never choose to visit the U.K. unless there was some gain."

Coming to the U.K. would benefit her and her family by allowing them to reconnect, show unity, and highlight the Invictus Games. If managed properly, their positive image will increase brand sales.

"Since 2022, Meghan hasn't been to the U.K. She has an excuse for the ongoing security debacle, but a comprehensive security plan would always be provided for the family. While Meghan's security fears are debatable, she certainly fears being heckled in the U.K."

In 2014, Harry founded the Invictus Games, a Paralympic-style event aimed at inspiring military veterans worldwide to overcome battlefield injuries, similar to the Warrior Games in the United States. Harry, a former captain in the British Army, was the founder of this event.
