An expert has revealed that King Charles is secretly covering Prince Andrew's rent after revoking his allowance.
The author of 'My Mother and I' believes the monarch offered a generous olive branch to the disgraced Duke of York.
It is reported that King Charles is offering a generous olive branch to his scandal-ridden brother.
The Mail on Sunday’s editor-at-large, Charlotte Griffiths, asserted that the monarch is the clandestine payer of Prince Andrew’s rent, enabling the disgraced Duke of York to reside at his luxurious Royal Lodge estate.
Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine and author of "My Mother and I," concurs with Griffiths' exclusive story. Buckingham Palace declined to respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's inquiry for comment.
According to Seward, there is no doubt that Charles is the one providing the money for Andrew because the queen wouldn't have left Andrew bereft.
""She would have made provisions for Andrew before she died or through Charles if she had not died before the next monarch ascended the throne," she stated."
"Seward stated, "I am convinced that Charles is assisting him. I cannot fathom who else would. I am certain Fergie, Andrew's ex-wife, would aid him. Although Fergie excels in her literary endeavors, I find it hard to believe she could sustain Royal Lodge on her own.""
Royal author claims that Queen Elizabeth remained incredibly close to Prince Andrew right up until her death.
"I believe the only one capable of doing this is either money from the queen or money from the king," she stated.
According to Griffiths, the king has personally settled his brother's debts and guaranteed his continued stay at the Royal Lodge.
Someone at a "glamorous and usually ultra-discreet dinner table" revealed to the editor that "Charles has covered the expenses."
"I believe that Charles is helping him. I don’t see who else would. I’m sure [Andrew’s ex-wife] Fergie would help him. I know Fergie does very well with her books, but I [can’t] imagine she would make enough to run Royal Lodge on her own." — Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine and author of "My Mother and I"
"The King has completed it," the source stated.
A palace insider who has previously stayed at Royal Lodge stated that Charles managed the finances and all funds were not sourced from taxpayer money.
The Sunday Times previously reported that Andrew, 64, had raised enough money to live in Royal Lodge, which is worth a reported $38 million. The prince's funds were approved by the Keeper of the Privy Purse as coming from "legitimate sources."
""Prince Andrew, also known as the Duke of York, has always resided in a palace, whether it be Buckingham Palace or Royal Lodge, and he is reluctant to leave his grand home," said Seward."
"King Charles advised Andrew to relocate from Royal Lodge to Frogmore Cottage, stating that it had been modernized and was easy to maintain. However, Andrew refused and opted to remain in his current residence."
The maintenance of Royal Lodge requires funding for over 30 rooms and 50 acres of gardens, as observed by Seward.
"Seward stated that the house, despite being small, requires a lot of maintenance due to its size. He believed that Charles, who is not confrontational, would not have had an argument with him over it."
"Seward argued that Charles wouldn't have said "You've got to get out" and instead would have suggested why it would be easier to leave. Andrew responded with "No, I want to stay," and Charles responded with "Fine, but I'll have to remove this expensive security and we'll need to find an alternative.""
It is believed that Andrew was almost removed from Royal Lodge by Charles, who attempted to exploit a loophole.
If Prince Andrew had agreed to move into Frogmore Cottage, the king would have covered his living expenses, according to the Sunday Times. However, after Andrew refused to downsize, the king removed his allowance.
Since 2004, Andrew has been residing on the estate with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.
Reports indicate that he has spent more than $10 million on repairs, renovations, and acquisition of the property. The annual rent for the property is reportedly $337,000, and it is estimated to require $503,000 for maintenance.
The Sunday Times reported that the king did not renew the contract for Andrew's private security team, which was costing him nearly $4 million annually.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson refused to comment on security matters when asked by Planet Chronicle Digital.
"Seward stated that the Crown Estate would have been happy to remove Andrew from Royal Lodge so they could rent the entire property. Their primary concern is to make money, and as long as Andrew resides in Royal Lodge, it hinders their ability to generate as much revenue as possible. Unfortunately, Andrew is the late queen's second son."
The duke secured a real estate win, but Seward believed that the future held nothing for Prince Andrew.
For the past five years, he has been doing nothing despite having to do something, as she stated.
"If he were my son, I'd say, "I'll give you a stunning farm in Scotland and encourage you to pursue farming as a way to disconnect from the world. However, Andrew doesn't want that kind of life.""
Seward added, "The phrase 'hoist with your own petard' is an old-fashioned expression that means you're strangled by your wishes."
But Andrew isn’t alone.
Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice have been alternating weekends with their father to lift his mood, according to a report in Hello! Magazine.
"According to a source, the outlet reported that the family is spending significantly more time with their father now compared to recent years. They are very close to their father and appear to be very protective towards him."
Helena Chard, a British broadcaster and photographer, revealed to Planet Chronicle Digital that Andrew has been trying to maintain a low profile at Royal Lodge.
"The prince's fragile state and well-being have been a concern for his family and remaining friends, who have been isolating him, according to the speaker."
"His grandchildren are his only source of hope and purpose," she said. "He has been seen teaching his 3-year-old granddaughter, Sienna, how to ride horses. This brings him immense joy, as his mother, the late queen, also enjoyed horseback riding at the same age."
The country retreat where the royals gather every year to celebrate Christmas is where Prince Andrew and the king, who was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer, have put any animosity behind them.
"At present, it appears that Prince Andrew has the necessary funds to maintain his residence at Royal Lodge," she stated. "… [We] will continue to inquire and join scattered parts of the puzzle."
Andrew stepped back from royal duties in 2019 after his Newsnight interview.
He tried to discuss his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, a late American financier and convicted sex offender, during a televised interview. Additionally, he lost his honorary military titles.
In 2020, Virginia Roberts Giuffre filed a lawsuit alleging that Andrew sexually exploited her on three occasions in 2001 when she was 17. Andrew has consistently maintained his innocence.
In 2022, a U.S. judge dismissed the sex abuse lawsuit against Andrew, who settled with Giuffre. The prince made a substantial donation to his accuser's charity and declared he never intended to harm her reputation.
