An emergency surgery was performed on Gal Gadot, who was diagnosed with a brain blood clot while eight months pregnant.
'After being diagnosed with a medical condition following an MRI and experiencing 'excruciating headaches,' the actress who portrays Wonder Woman is now bedridden.'
While eight months pregnant with her daughter, Gal Gadot was diagnosed with a "massive blood clot" on her brain.
Gal Gadot, the star of "Wonder Woman," posted an emotional message on social media about the "profound challenges and deep reflections" she experienced during her year with a photo of her baby girl in the hospital shortly after her birth.
In March, Gadot, 39, announced the birth of her daughter with husband Yaron Varsano, keeping her fourth pregnancy a secret.
During my eighth month of pregnancy, I was diagnosed with a massive blood clot in my brain. I experienced excruciating headaches for weeks, which kept me in bed until I underwent an MRI that revealed the terrifying truth.
"In a single instant, my loved ones and I were confronted with the fragility of life. This sudden realization served as a poignant reminder of how rapidly circumstances can shift, particularly during a challenging year. At that moment, all I yearned for was to cling tightly and persevere."
I underwent emergency surgery at the hospital after rushing there with my daughter, Ori, who was born during a moment of uncertainty and fear. Her name, meaning 'my light,' was not chosen by chance. Before the surgery, I told Jaron that when our daughter arrived, she would be the light waiting for me at the end of this tunnel.
Gadot expressed gratitude to her medical team at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles for "weeks of devoted attention."
"I successfully completed my recovery journey and am now completely healed. I am grateful for the life I've been given back," she wrote.
In 2008, Gadot and Varsano welcomed daughters Alma, Maya, and Daniella into their family.
In 2017, Gadot concealed her second pregnancy from the public while filming "Wonder Woman" because she didn't want to be treated differently on set.
"She revealed to the magazine that she endured the shoot with determination. She arrived on set with sunglasses and a jug of water containing large chunks of ginger. One of the producers repeatedly inquired, 'Why are you consuming that potato water?' They believed she had succumbed to Hollywood glamour."
In 2022, Gadot, who served in the Israel Defense Forces when she was younger, stated in an interview with InStyle that shooting a movie while pregnant or with a baby is the most "terrible" thing she has ever done.
"I was 25 when I became pregnant with Alma. I always dreamed of being a young mother. Indeed, I have three children. No kidding, lady. God bless them, but it's a lot of work."
Gadot stated, "Giving birth is magical and I would do it every week if possible. Although I take epidurals to ease the pain, the experience of bringing life into the world is unforgettable."
