After Buckingham Palace announced King Charles III's cancer diagnosis in February, Queen Camilla developed a chest infection.
"A form of cancer was discovered during the King's recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, according to Buckingham Palace."
In April, His Majesty resumed his public responsibilities after a brief rest.
The palace later announced that the Princess of Wales was also fighting cancer.
Kate Middleton underwent planned abdominal surgery and was told her condition was non-cancerous. However, further testing revealed cancer was present. Her medical team advised chemotherapy.
The Princess of Wales stated in a pre-recorded message in March that the news came as a huge shock and she and William have been working hard to process and manage it privately for the sake of their family.
"It has taken time for me to recover from major surgery and for us to explain everything to George, Charlotte, and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be okay."
