Brian Kelley, a country singer, pondered on his interpretation of what it means to be an American following the country's 248th Independence Day celebration.

In an interview with Planet Chronicle Digital, the 38-year-old ex-Florida George Line member, who recently released his new solo album "Tennessee Truth," expressed his pride in being an American citizen and thanked the military for their sacrifices to protect our country's fundamental rights.

"One of the greatest things about being an American is the freedom to speak, think, and live, right?" he said at the end of the day.

Kelley emphasized the importance of having one's own opinions and the right to vote, to have a say in how things go, both locally and nationally.

"I love our military and service members, and I am deeply grateful to live in a place where so many of them have sacrificed their lives to protect our freedoms."

The singer, known as the "Beach Cowboy," revealed to Planet Chronicle Digital that both his uncle and grandfather, whom he calls "Poppy," served in the military.

"Kelley shared that her Poppy received two Purple Hearts for being a prisoner of war in Mossberg, Germany. His story continues to inspire her and has even inspired songs. Additionally, her Uncle Mike was an airborne Ranger for many years before joining the Air National Guard near Nashville. He later went to Iraq in 2003 and 2004, which Kelley remembers vividly. She was shocked when she found out about his deployment, saying, "Uncle Mike is going to frickin' war. Are you kidding me?""

"At the peak of everything, I cherish being American and having the freedom to live, think, and breathe as I please. That's what I love about this country."

Kelley remains loyal to his origins with his latest album, "Tennessee Truth," which was released in May, according to what he told Planet Chronicle Digital.

When he was about 2 years old, his father, Ed Kelley, moved from Palmersville, Tennessee to Nashville.

"My deep Tennessee roots are honored in this record, as I have numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and family members residing in the Gallatin and Hendersonville areas."

Kelley stated that he believes his fans connect with "Tennessee Truths" because it embodies the values he shares with them.

"In the end, my Tennessee truth is that I'm no different from those who will be jamming this record," Kelley stated. "We share the same mindset regarding our values and how we live our lives through fishing, hunting, our loved ones, family time, and our faith in God. We love our country and are dedicated workers."

Kelley was part of Florida Georgia Line, a country music duo he formed with Tyler Hubbard in 2010, until the group went on indefinite hiatus in 2022. Despite this, Kelley stated that he never wanted to break up the partnership.

He stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that he believed he and Tyler Hubbard could combine their music with individual projects.

He explained that for him, it was really challenging to keep everything together while also going through a difficult separation with Hubbard.

He expressed his preference for Florida Georgia Line to remain together, but acknowledged that life can present unexpected challenges. As a result, he decided to embrace the curveball and use it as an opportunity to create a new record.

Kelley attributed Florida Georgia Line's success to their unwavering commitment and diligence. The duo won seven Academy of Country Music Awards, six CMT Music Awards, and received a Grammy Award nomination for best country duo/group performance.

Florida Georgia Line's 2012 debut album "Here's to the Good Times" went double platinum, and all three of their albums have achieved platinum status. "Here's to the Good Times" also featured the hit single "Cruise," which was the first country song to be certified diamond.

"Our mindset was to double down on hard work whenever we experienced any small success, knowing that it was a special moment," Kelley stated. "This motivated us and made our time on the road enjoyable, despite the hard work."

He continued, "We were consistently creating a great environment for the concert side of it, the vibe of it, and bringing out our publishing companies, bus and riders, while also fostering a creative atmosphere."

"Clearly, we worked hard and played hard," he said. "However, we truly doubled down and put in the effort. We wrote numerous songs and hits while on the road, in the bus, and outside the venue. This work ethic and hustle stand out to me."

He stated that he wouldn't have altered anything about his time with Florida Georgia Line.

"He expressed pride in his efforts to maintain the thing, despite it not going as planned. He acknowledged that people have different opinions and that things can always return if necessary. He was excited about the possibility of it happening and stated that he wouldn't change anything he did."

Kelley stated that he "gave it my best shot to keep it going, and that's all you can do. And then, as I mentioned, just focus on what you can control. That's what my record reflects, the way I sound and the themes of my songs. So, I put all of that into my work."

The musician expressed his gratitude for the "amazing" years he spent with Florida Georgia Line.

Kelley stated that without his experience in the duo, he would not be the singer he is today.

"Kelley stated, "I am aware that Hubbard is as thankful as I am, and it's possible that our paths may cross again in the future. We'll have to wait and see.""

Kelley is currently concentrating on his individual career and is pleased with "Tennessee Truth," which he describes as a reflection of "living it and being it" and spending quality time with his loved ones.

Brian Kelley's new album, "Tennessee Truth," is all about embracing love and living life to the fullest.

The album, comprising 12 tracks including "Trucks, Ducks, Bucks & Beer," "King Ranch," "Dirt Cheap," "10 O’Clock on the Dock" and "Dirt Road Date Night," celebrates rural living, the joy of the outdoors, hard work, and true love.

Brittney, his wife whom he married in 2013, served as an inspiration for some of the songs on his debut album, as stated by the Florida native to Planet Chronicle Digital.

""Our world revolves around love, as our family time together with our extended family brings us immense joy," he stated."

Kelley stated that he draws inspiration for lyrics from his lifestyle of spending time in nature, either in the woods or the water. This is where he typically spends his time, except when on the road.

Kelley stated that his music is centered around "loving and living life to the fullest, working hard, and having something to look forward to."

Kelley stated that he and Brittney make an effort to prioritize spending time together, whether it's on a "lake day" or simply relaxing at home. He emphasized the importance of taking time to appreciate life and hopes that others can understand the significance of this message conveyed through their relationship.

"He stated, "I believe it's a great listen from start to finish. The album is easily digestible with 12 songs and is very cohesive. There are no skippers on this record, and I love every song. That's why I recorded them, and each song holds meaning to me.""
