Ali Larter relocated her family from Los Angeles to Idaho in pursuit of a "simpler life."
In Taylor Sheridan's new show 'Landman,' a 48-year-old actress shares the screen with Billy Bob Thornton, Jon Hamm, and Demi Moore, exploring the oil industry in Texas.
Idaho is where Ali Larter's family is thriving.
The "Landman" star revealed to Planet Chronicle Digital that her family relocated from Los Angeles to the Northwest at the onset of the pandemic and have remained there ever since.
""If it was a deliberate decision, I wouldn't have thought it was possible, given that our children's schools were closed due to COVID-19 and we were away for two months. We simply decided to go skiing," she stated this week."
Hayes MacArthur, an actor and Larter's husband, has two children with her: a daughter named Vivienne, who is 9 years old, and a son named Theodore, who is 3 years old.
"My daughter was in kindergarten, and it was a terrible time," she continued.
Before deciding to relocate, they returned to Los Angeles during the summer.
"The 48-year-old said, "We were really lucky to find an amazing community there. We responded to the ethos of that town, which is a simpler life with really generous people. There's an accountability when you live in a small town, and we loved raising our children there.""
The actress, who married MacArthur in 2009 and is known for being "obsessed," expressed her love for the small town atmosphere.
"We're like, ‘Let's give it a go,’ and we were really, really lucky to find an amazing community there." — Ali Larter
"The families that reside in that area, whether they have stayed or moved there, have a strong focus on family and nature. There are no big box stores, and the absence of freeways allows for more time to appreciate and acknowledge life as a family with my husband and me, who work long hours."

We love raising our children in the beautiful place where we are together. We didn't know it was possible.
Larter's husband was also taken aback by the surprise move, according to her.
"I think that the families that grew up there, that stayed there and the families that have moved there, so much of it is about family and nature." — Ali Larter
"After the pandemic, we decided to leave Hollywood and move to Wilmington and Fort Worth for work. My husband is shooting 'The Runarounds' in Wilmington, while I'm doing 'Landman' in Fort Worth. We wouldn't have been in LA anyway, so we took a bold move to pivot and put our family first. We're excited and proud of our decision."
After the press tour concludes, Larter is eager to reunite with her loved ones.
Ali Larter states that she can spend a maximum of two weeks away from her children.
"This two-week press tour has been my longest time away from my kids, and I can't wait to be reunited with them. Although shooting this show was challenging, it was also incredibly rewarding. I'm so proud of what we were able to accomplish. Paramount has been amazing, and I hope the people will love the show as much as we loved making it."
In September, MacArthur revealed to Rue magazine that their industry was at a standstill and their children were stuck on screens due to remote schooling.
After a year, we packed up the car and headed north. We saw the beauty of the mountains and their quiet grandeur. We had never lived in a small town before, but we fell in love with the sense of community here. People looked out for each other, and we were happy to be a part of it.
Larter and MacArthur solidified their departure from LA by constructing a new 4,400-square-foot residence in Sun Valley.
"The mountains inspire and relax me," Larter stated of her new surroundings. "I often feel like I'm going 1,000 miles an hour in my life, but these massive rocks calm me down."
"Landman," created by "Yellowstone" creator Taylor Sheridan, is a new show that focuses on the oil industry and features Billy Bob Thornton, Jon Hamm, and Demi Moore in starring roles.
Ali Larter discusses her transformation into her character from 'Landman.'
To get into character for the show, Larter was inspired by Angela's West Texan accent and her stylish clothing.
The script serves as the foundation, but one aspect is my accent coach Jessica Drake, whom I worked with twice a week. There's a significant issue with the 'WH's in West Texas, as I demonstrated in my accent.
"Getting into the accent was challenging for me because they added a little air to their "WH's." Additionally, Angela is a glamorous woman who loves to wear leopard print bodysuits, jeans, and heels. Putting on her wardrobe and heels was a significant moment for me, as was doing her hair and makeup to transform into a provocative and bold character."
"Landman" is streaming now on Paramount+.
