Alexa PenaVega, known for her role in 'Spy Kids,' discloses that her husband was envious of the love scenes she portrayed on screen.
Since 2014, Alexa and Carlos PenaVega have been wed.
The "Spy Kids" actress and her husband Carlos faced challenges with Alexa PenaVega filming love scenes in movies.
In an interview with Planet Chronicle Digital, Alexa disclosed that initially, her husband Carlos would become envious of her filming those scenes. However, as their relationship with God deepened, things became less challenging.
Alexa explained that years ago, Carlos would become a little jealous, but as we became more confident and comfortable, and closer to God, our roles began to shift with what we were taking.
"Additionally, I believe our strong trust in our relationship has always been sufficient, so there was never a need for anyone else to threaten us."
"Though there are boundaries, they can be healthy," Carlos said.
Great American Family and PenaVegas have teamed up for a Christmas film.
Alexa PenaVega reveals that her husband was once envious of her romantic moments on screen.
Since collaborating with the organization, Carlos knows that the scenes his wife shoots are safe, regardless of whether he's on set with her or not.
"He stated, "What I love so much about Great American Family is that if she's not working with me, I know she'll be safe and everything she does will be good. This makes it an excellent home for us.""
"So, years ago, Carlos would get a little jealous, but I think the more confident and comfortable, and honestly the closer we got to God … there was never a need to be threatened by anybody else." — Alexa PenaVega
In the upcoming untitled film, Alexa and Carlos will portray romantic love interests. When questioned by Planet Chronicle Digital about the discomfort level of filming those scenes, both Alexa and Carlos stated that it was not an issue.
Carlos stated that this movie is particularly special because it was produced by their company, which is their first joint production.
"This is incredibly special for us to portray these characters on screen. I've thoroughly enjoyed the experience."
While religion is significant to the PenaVegas, they are not interested in confining their careers to Christian filmmaking.
Alexa and Carlos PenaVega refuse to restrict their acting to Christian films.
Alexa stated, "We occupy a unique position where we value faith-based films, but I believe it's crucial to emphasize the importance of movies that are for the world, yet created by kingdom-hearted individuals. This way, we can avoid producing Christian movies only."
"We aim to create films with profound meaning that leave viewers feeling uplifted and inspired, even if they can't quite put their finger on why," she said. "This is because our movies are rooted in a kingdom heart, but we're tackling real-world issues. It's easy for Christian films to come across as clichéd and formulaic, but the Christian life is anything but."
"Although life can be unpleasant, there's a solution, and we should demonstrate this to the world," Carlos stated.
In 2014, Alexa and Carlos tied the knot just a short time after meeting at Bible study. This year has been challenging for the couple.
On April 15, Alexa and Carlos announced that their baby was stillborn. In a joint Instagram post, the couple wrote, "There are no words to express the pain of losing a child. After a beautiful delivery, our daughter 'Indy' was born still. This has been a difficult journey. But in the midst of the pain, we have found peace. God continues to comfort and hold us in his arms."
They kept fans updated on Indy's pregnancy before she was born. Indy was their fourth child. They also share sons Ocean, 7, and Kingston, 4, and daughter Rio, 2.
In June, Alexa revealed to Planet Chronicle Digital that their faith played a significant role in their recovery from their tragedy.
"I can't comprehend how people cope without God because it was an inexplicable sense of peace that didn't make sense," Alexa stated. "It's incomprehensible. It's beyond our understanding. After everything, we were devastated. It was heartbreaking. Yet, we felt like God was saying, 'I'm sorry you had to go through this, but I'm here for you, and I'll make a way for you.'"
