Alec Baldwin and Nicole Kidman were the targets of too provocative jokes by Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser.
Comedian Nikki Glaser takes aim at Ben Affleck and Nicolas Cage in a hilarious skit.
On Monday, Nikki Glaser and Howard Stern reveled in their 2025 Golden Globes hosting success, with Nikki sharing a few jokes that were cut from the final show.
Glaser, 40, revealed to Stern that she had memorized every joke from her opening monologue, which celebrated "Ozempic's biggest night," and then made fun of Ben Affleck and Sean "Diddy" Combs.
The comedian, who has gained notoriety for her recent roast of Tom Brady, confessed that she was fearful of being "canceled" for certain jokes she had written for the awards show and ultimately decided to share them with Stern instead.
"Stern inquired about the jokes that were left out of the monologue, stating that he was always curious about the process. He asked if there were any jokes that were liked but couldn't be included or if they were avoided for some reason. He requested a couple of examples."
Glaser stated, "I have numerous examples, but feel free to interrupt me at any time."
"I created a small playlist for you, as some of these songs were inspired by conversations in the writers' room. They were often pitched but deemed inappropriate for television, so I suggested moving them to the Stern file."
Nicole Kidman
According to Glaser, the 57-year-old actress, who was nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in "Babygirl," had a joke about her that was nixed. "We shot it for a promo, and it almost aired on CBS, and then we were like, that will get me canceled," Glaser confessed.
"Nicole Kidman is nominated for 'The Wild Robot' after two glasses of white wine."
Glaser admitted that he wished they had done something differently, but if she made a face, she might have been cool with it, but they never knew for sure.
Alec Baldwin
The 82nd Golden Globe Awards did not have Baldwin, 66, in attendance, and a joke about him was also removed.
"In "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice," Michael Keaton was exceptional, while unfortunately, Alec Baldwin was unable to reprise his role as a ghost due to prior commitments."
Nicolas Cage
On Sunday, Golden Globe Award winner Cage presented the best picture - musical/comedy award and could have been the target of Glaser's jokes.
"Tonight, Elvis' coffin housed Nicolas Cage, who looks refreshed after a night's rest."
"The band of skeletons that follows Nicolas Cage is playing ragtime jazz."
Dax Shepard
At the 2025 Golden Globes, Shepard, 50, accompanied his wife, Kristen Bell, and refrained from making a joke about his popular podcast.
"The Golden Globes is the only event where the biggest stars in movies and television unite with the same objective: To appear on stage tonight before Dax Shepard requests them for his podcast."
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was absent at the awards show and is currently imprisoned in Brooklyn on charges of felony racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
"Before the Diddy trial, this will be the final time that all of you are in the same room together."
Stern asked, "Why didn’t you use that joke?"
"Glaser stated that we had a better Diddy mention that led us to other jokes. However, we only get one Diddy mention, and using it could accuse people in the room of being involved in that, which might lead to them turning on us."
‘Only Murders in the Building’
At Sunday's Golden Globe Awards ceremony, Martin Short, Steve Martin, and Selena Gomez were each nominated. However, a joke about Martin and Short, along with their co-star Meryl Streep, was left out of Glaser's monologue.
"The TV show 'Only Murders in the Building' is fantastic, and it's impressive that legendary actors like Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Meryl Streep are still performing at such a high level. It's inspiring to see that they're still motivated to earn money. Please, Jake Paul, don't fight. And why are you working so hard? Did you fall for the Hawk Tuah crypto scheme?"
