After the split of Florida Georgia Line, country star Brian Kelley prioritized family and faith.
In 2022, Florida Georgia Line announced an indefinite hiatus, 12 years after releasing its first single.
Brian Kelley is sharing his "Tennessee Truth" through his new album of the same name.
After splitting from Florida Georgia Line, the former star has released a new album "Tennessee Truth" while staying true to his roots.
The country music star, 38, revealed to Planet Chronicle Digital that his father was born in Tennessee and relocated to Nashville when he was approximately two years old.
"My deep Tennessee roots are honored in this record, as I have numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and family members residing in the Gallatin and Hendersonville areas."
He said he moved to Nashville in 2007 to become a songwriter.
He expressed his gratitude for music continuing to guide his life, stating that he is still the person who searches for songs and may interrupt a conversation to jot down a lyric if it comes to mind.
"In the end, my Tennessee truth is that I am no different from those who will be jamming this record. We share the same headspace when it comes to our values and how we navigate life through fishing, hunting, our love for our families, and our devotion to God. We are proud Americans and hardworking individuals."
Brian Kelley's new album 'Tennessee Truth' focuses on the theme of 'embracing love and living life to the fullest'.
He stated that his collection of songs, including "Trucks, Ducks, Bucks and Beer," "King Ranch," and "10 O’Clock on the Dock," is all about embracing life and living it to the fullest while spending time with loved ones.
"He stated, "My wife Brittney, spending time with our extended family during family gatherings is incredibly meaningful to me." He further added, "The lyrics I write often stem from my lifestyle, which involves spending a lot of time in nature, whether it's in the woods or in the water. That's where you'll typically find me, unless we're traveling somewhere.""
He stated that his music is centered on "loving and living life to the fullest, you know what I mean? And working hard, having something to anticipate."
He stated that he and Brittney make an effort to prioritize spending time together, whether it's on a "lake day" or simply relaxing at home. Despite the mundanity of their activities, they find joy in simply enjoying life. He hopes that people can appreciate the authenticity of their relationship, which he believes is genuine and sincere.
Before embarking on his solo career, Kelley was part of Florida Georgia Line, a duo that disbanded in 2022. Despite this, Kelley stated that he never wished to separate the partnership.
He stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that he believed he and Tyler Hubbard could combine their music with individual projects.
Brian Kelley revealed the 'curveball' of Florida Georgia Line's split in his work.
He explained that for him, it was really challenging to keep everything together while also going through a difficult separation with Hubbard.
He expressed his preference for Florida Georgia Line to remain together, but acknowledged that life can present unexpected challenges. As a result, he decided to embrace the curveball and use it as an opportunity to create a new record.
The song "Kiss My Boots" by him has ignited speculations that its lyrics such as "you did me wrong" and "here’s a middle finger to you through this song" are aimed at Hubbard. However, Kelley maintains that Hubbard is an "easy target."
When he and the song's co-writers sat down to work on it, they didn't have the title "Kiss My Boots," but once they found the line "It comes out with the whiskey," it took them "on a whole rabbit trail, if you will, of, you know, our long list of kiss my boots list people. You know, being in the industry and being in Nashville, probably everybody's got a couple."
Kelley was ecstatic when he heard that the song he wrote addresses the struggles he faced in his life. He was amazed that the song became No. 1 and found it incredible that they landed on that particular song. He believes that being patient and finding the truth in every session and day is key to success.
Kelley expressed his deep appreciation for the "fantastic" years he spent with Florida Georgia Line, which he and Hubbard established in 2010.
Kelley stated that without his experience in the duo, he would not be the singer he is today.
"Kelley stated, "I know Hubbard is as grateful as I am, and who knows, it may come back around at some point. We'll just have to wait and see.""
He stated that currently, his main focus is on "really connecting with fans and sharing my heart and story with them, while also getting my voice heard in the world. It's really exciting, man. I love working on projects, building things, and taking on challenges."
Brian Kelley claims that Tyler Hubbard, his former bandmate in Florida Georgia Line, is an "easy target" in "Kiss My Boots."
He stated that he wouldn't have altered anything about his time with Florida Georgia Line.
"He expressed pride in his efforts to maintain the thing, despite it not going as planned. He acknowledged that people have different opinions and that things can always return if necessary. He was excited about the possibility of it happening and stated that he wouldn't change anything he did."
Kelley stated that he "gave it my best shot to keep it going, and that's all you can do. And then, as I mentioned, just focus on what you can control. That's what my record reflects, the way I sound and the themes of my songs. So, I put all of that into my work."
"Tennessee Truth" was released earlier this month.
